I think people are getting things like Hyperuetectic and all those other piston terms confused....oh and with the lower pin height you mention my engine builder told me comp would be around 7.5:1?

Got my kit from Moyle engines in Bunbury WA - $575 for the gasket kit with it, local rebuilder. Got EVERY gasket inc sump, water / oil pump, rear and front crank seal, water inlets etc, head gasket (didnt use that tho) oil feeder o-ring, plenum and exhaust man gaskets. ****in everythin you need pretty much I was very suprised! Used nissan head gasket / shim. Id be happily putting 400hp through them. The distributor on here somewhere quoted me bearings etc individually, gaskets and pistons for like $600-700.

I know its an old thread..... 'Hypatec' brand hyperutectic pistons from Precision come in two RB30E styles: Cast Liquid forged I have been told the Liquid Forged are a fancy version of a cast piston with coating on the top and sides. The cast pistons only have a coating on the top. Who actually knows some truths here?! http://www.precisionintl.com I found out some stuff. Hypatec 'Liquid Forged' are not a true forged piston, they are still a cast piston but are made in a slightly different way. They are very high quality and go through proper heat treatment. I got a price on RB30ET pistons today (no rings) Hypatec $377 Hypatec Liquid Forged $706

good to read some info on these ! think I may go with these and see how she goes. Was going to go with Arias forgies but think these will do the job, and I can then afford a new microtech into the budget.

i know old thread is any one still running the hypertc pistons?still going strong?i killed one of mine they are cheap as these days hypertec $350 add $120 for moly rings or $620 for liquid forged with molly rings. will i be fine to hone my bores and change from hypertec to the liquid forged as my bottom end isnt very old you can stil see the honing marks i dont think ill have to worry about bearings etc?
