I for one am not saying that the RB26 is a better motor than the Ford, I just mean in terms of cost you could probably build a decent RB for the cost of the conversion and with less headaches... If you're going for something original and cost isn't an issue then I'm interested to see how it goes...

Quote: I for one am not saying that the RB26 is a better motor than the Ford, I just mean in terms of cost you could probably build a decent RB for the cost of the conversion and with less headaches... same for what i said. and i agree with duz 360, cortina would be an awsome choice of car for the xr6t motor without batting for both sides.

i think its a great idea, with a few mods will make 300rwkw and have no lag at all which is the key in my books...

Man go 4 it that would be sick yer RB variants have all been done but man there is no difference between putting a 1 or 2JZ into a VL/VK then putting an XR6T engine into a VL/VK i know theres the big your either ford or holden thing but really who cares but i did hear somthing bout the XR6T engines that they have alot of sensors that stop boost that need bending with either ECU change or piggy back devices and i also heard wen boosted the heat up oil wise dunno how true this is but thats wat i was told. just out of theroy how much are these engines like 400rwkw on standard internals man i dunno many engines that can handle 300rwkw on standrds how much is the donk??? infact how much is a front cut

very interesting from a "project point of view, with a large budget" (6k .... still sounds pretty damn cheap though!) a RB26 or even a 2JZGTE would make a faaar better option, theyre both proven engines heh big deal 1 or a few XR6T engines have made 900HP+....a few "million" (okay maybe not that many but you get the point, 'heaps') RB26's and 2JZ's have made that :P then again, theres no points lost for being different i reckon, keep us updated ay? I think some people need to get off the one man band wagon and have a think about what they type before they do it. Most of you may know I used to have aturbo falcon that cranked out 554rwhp. That was 3 years ago on a crappy 4L SOHC engine. The BA engine has proven time and time again to be able to produce 500rwhp on a dead stock engine and turbo with nothing more than injectors, exhaust, cooler and pipes and a tune. Whats more, have any of you heard the term "torque wins races"? To campare a 600hp falcon donk and 600hp RB26 or 30, the 4 litre probably makes another 100-150ft/lb of torque!! Now going one step further, how about spool and driveability?? Everyone raves about it, and builds their cars around it. So what rpm woul dan RB26 or RB30 with 500rwhp make full boost on pump fuel?? I'd say with a TO4Z or GT42 minimum, around 4000-4800rpm. The GT35 on the 4 litre however, makes full boost at 2300rpm!!! You all wanna talk about cost?? Well, how much would it cost to build a 26 or 30 to make 500rwhp reliably?? I'd say at least 5G, the cost of the BA engine. And both engines will need not only all the parts the BA engine iwll such as exhaust, cooler, management and injectors, the the nissan engines will also need custom exhaust manifolds, external wastegates, the RB30 would need custom intake manifold, the list goes on... Obviously no one actually though of what the 2 would need to make comparable power, otherwise I'm sure there would be a whole lot less "advise" about what is better. Don't get me wrong on all counts though guys, I do understand as holden purists that the morals of putting a ford engine in a holden is evil and I would never mix and match myself, apart from a 2JZ in a VL, 180 or S15 Congrats to your mate on such a bold idea, these days, its just as much a reason to do something just to be different to everyone else, asit is for the fact it will be a kick ass, fast, fun, responsive animal of a street car. Cheers.......................6BOOST Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

And as for comparing the 4 litre to the 26, give it 10 years of development and see where they both lie. How many 500kw pump fuel street 26's do you see?? And responsive ones at that?? I'd say none. 6BOOST

Do the conversion and watch the shock and awe Fuck it - you only live once so enjoy the spoils of your hard earned green. Pull it off nicely and run 10s or 9s.. I'm sure the rb30 loyalists will still make up some BS to cut you down but as long as you’re happy that’s all that matters. BA XR6 T Engine is much better than a GTR Headed RB30 any day - and the drivability in a 1300kg VL would be awesome. 6boost – you’re points are valid and for the street torque is ultimate. On the race track, usable torque coupled with the right ratio gearbox and diff ratio is crucial depending on what motor sport you’re involved in. Some Turbo cars can be down right stupid with the wrong setup as they have no usable torque to setup and power through the corner without sliding out. how different can you be with a vl these days.the rb26 is not a better engine.it is significantly older and its not like the 4.0 twin cam is lacking in technology.i doubt a 350rwkw rb26dett would be as driveable as a 350rwkw xr6t engine.the ford motor would have a mountain more torque down low.

I use to hate the BA Turbo Falcon but after some in depth research & What others i know been saying about them There actually well Engineered cars with a German Gearbox so overall there not bad cars compared to a 15 Year old thrashed out GTR.

All I'll say is I like the idea. Think outside the square. and, quote "lol gettin an xr6t into a holden would be an absolute joke.... VERY deep pockets and no doubt its just a pipe dream!" I think he said the motor is already in the car. Doesn't sound like a pipe dream to me.

If this question was asked about 1 year and a 1/2 ago I would've said "Hahahaha A Ford engine into a Holden, what a waste", but now it would be very interesting. The awesome power of the Ford 4L 6 Turbo in the much smaller and lighter VL would be insane. I wonder what kind of reaction this would get, if it was posted at the Australian Ford Forums???? I bet it would get ripped to shreds by mindless Ford bogans and might get some positive feedback by the level headed Ford fans. Quote: Originally Posted by Boyracer Whats wrong with the RB30?Putting a falcon donk in a Holden is plain wrong,I know your gunna say it will go hard but so would any Holden donk, its his money but its just too wierd. Well mate you have to look at it from a different view, yes theres nothing wrong with the RB30, but then its still like 95% of the VLs on here. A XR6T powered VL would pull much more interest, then any other VLT around IMO. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
