Gas research melbourne, there the **** when it comes 2 Gas turbo. You can see ther customer cars such as John who drives the ESP which is jason car which was the first turbo 6 ford in melbourne which i know of & u can see on fullboost & john's old blue XF turbo. He's my bros mate and im sure if u see him at the track you can have a chat 2 him & will send u off in the right direction.
I cannot find Jakes performance number as my bros phone is stuffed. Im sure if u call directory assistance they can help u. So jakes performance Canberra and they use impco gas products which are apprently reliable gas products.
Hope this helps and sends u in the right direction fellas
thanks for the effort mickyyy, i went around to jakes today but they were closed. which was unfortunate, so monday will have to be the day. It will be good to see what direction he guides me in, im keen to gas for many reasons, mainly being the cost of gas, but also its something different aswell, i think to intially set it up running will cost roughly the same whether its gas or petrol so its just a matter of pros vs cons i guess.
I have just been looking through the MSD website and have come across a couple of items that "may" be able to do the ignition side of things on a gas vl.
heres the links to em.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea on these products and would they work?
cheers!
bump! has anyone had anything to do with the above ignition setups and can they be run by them selves? someone mentioned to me to modify a dizzy from an older car (carby fed or something) to suite the vl?
have you tried ringing ic&e ignitions in melbourne? im sure they would be of great help
also if straight gas is to be used is a wiring loom realy necesarry? what would be needed from it? im thinking of a conversion to differnt car thats all.
thanks for that, will defineately give them a call this week. i have decided that im going the gas route. I have sorted out what needs to be purchased on the gas side of things, and from what other members' combos are i feel they will suite my application aswell.
the only thing that i am not 100% certain about is the ignition side of things. ill give those companys a call and see how they manage straight gas ignition.
also there shouldnt be any loom other then the dash display stuff like waer temp, oil pressure, and the starter motor stuff etc.
thanks once again for the replies.
also another question with straight gas i wont need to run a cat either will i? a couple of local exhaust shops say i dont need a cat, which will also help with exhaust costs/ fabrication.
Also Canberra is very lay back about modified cars. as long as things arnt dodgy/ look dodgy you really never have an issue with anyone, unless you go around asking for it.
I have the opportunity to buy a 440 cfm gas research carby thingy and two B2 convertors for $600 off a mate of mine. the stuff has had very little use and is in great condition. does this price sound fair?

In regards to running twin lines to the B2s (one each from the tank) do you essentially just run a T-piece at the tank and run two lines up from there or do you have to modify anything on the tank? VLMuzza??!!
cheers to everyone for their contribution, I nearly got turned away from gas, but I think it will be a worth while experiance.
Thats awesome that you still continue to drive your car around, thats probably the only thing that annoys me with people who just trailer their "street" cars around all day. also love the new wheels mate.
