lowbstvl: I want to get a cheapish car shell, probably VH (Coz they r cheap ) and spray it up. If I screw it up I'll just take it to scrap metal, but im pretty keen in learning to spray myself. I'm off to the library in 10mins to get some books on panel beating and spraypainting to try and learn as much as I can. I've been having a look on the net too and have a bit of info. Candy's are meant to be much harder to paint than acrylic and 2pak. I want to paint in 2pak. You said you only do this as a hobby? Do you have any tips on being able to turn out a top quality looking job when not being a professional in the trade? I'll be trying to learn as much as I can over the next month or 2 then probably try and tackle a big job in the second half of the year. Any tips from someone who has learnt to do this sorta stuff themselves would be a great help...I figure if I screw up any layer, I can just rub it back and start that layer again, so theres no big deal? If I take care and do some practise first I should be sweet yeh? Cheers, Allen. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Hey all, my painter just finished painting the engine bay, insides of doors, rocker cover and underside of boot and bonnet. I am using the candy purple powder with gold shimmer pearl from paintwithpearl. i used 2pack and am very happy with the results so far, he will be painting the rest of my car later next week so i will post some pics up of the car all finished when he finishes it. I thought i would post some pics up of how the paint turned out on the rocker cover, feel free to leave your thoughts and comments. here are the pics Click on the the links to open them. http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?i...oto00242gn.jpg (http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?image=photo00242gn.jpg) http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?i...oto00254xx.jpg (http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?image=photo00254xx.jpg) http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?i...oto00269dx.jpg (http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?image=photo00269dx.jpg) http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?i...oto00276xq.jpg (http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?image=photo00276xq.jpg) http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?i...oto00296vl.jpg (http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?image=photo00296vl.jpg) http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?i...oto00330es.jpg (http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?image=photo00330es.jpg) http://img216.imageshack.us/my.php?i...oto00346qj.jpg (http://img216.imageshack.us/my.php?image=photo00346qj.jpg) http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?i...oto00390hk.jpg (http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?image=photo00390hk.jpg)

Yeah, that's a nice colour. That would look hot over silver as above, but we don't need to see 8 pictures of a rocker cover How much is your respray gonna cost you? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Thanks for the comments guys, my painter is chargin me about $700 to sand, prime, black base and paint my car in that colour, but i have spent about another $700 on paint and stuff, so its fairly cheap. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
