While its off mate do it once do it right and hopefully it will never come off again, big valves will bo expensive. Port and polish will help alot, it just depends on how far you plan to go and how much you want to spend.

Am I to be under the understanding that an upgrade in vavle size is only something that is worth while doing once you are chasing massive power ? A fair few big power cars I have seen are still running std valves. Also I the word on the street that I have heard as well is that you can make well over 300 kws with a totally stock unported head upward in the vicinity of 400kw ? Doesn't sound real believable does it ?

Doesn't sound real believable does it ? you can make as much as you want coz your forcing the air through, porting just makes it alot more efficient. ive found that ported heads give a bit up top but its most midrange that you notice the power gains. anyone else with a ported head notice this?

Mine made 350kw with stock head. Have just put a old nizpro ported head on it, recoed of corse. Just waiting for the inlet manifold runners and turbo comp cover to come back from specialized power porting. Will be getting it dynoed straight away to see the back to back difference between stock vs ported hopefully i will be able see where my $1400 went.

wholey sheet vlnitron that is some crazy power from a std motor are you running a cometic head gasket in your setup ? I am hoping to bolt my TA51 on to a std rebuilt turbo motor (rings and bearings) with a cometic head gasket and a set of head studs Hopefully I should be able to make some power in the region of what you are doing. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i have it back on the road now, had it redynoed last week but didn't gain any power as the standard valve springs are too weak. Just have to change the valve springs to some bit stronger ones. Plus get the clutch toughened up, and still have to put surge tank in. maybe another couple weeks. let you know Cheers Corran
