cheers hamoud, yeah i have scrapped the walky bonnet scoop idea, but may paint bottom half as a calais in silver and put calais rear on it, again comments appreciated, the idea of an orange and silver calais appeals to me if someone can photochop it for me that would b good. cheers, John.

i changed to jd cos they are half the price i sold my rajab bought the jd and had $500 left over.
the car is at the panel shop having the moulds removed off the doors, lock sshaved, 2 new gaurds no aerial hole, lower body kit vl group 3 painted and fitted, the boot has been all boxed in with a false floor to recess the fuel cell and all trimmed in leather, i have 4 tan and black leather recaros as i am making it a 4 seater, new door trims to match, tan carpet the dash is tan with some fibreglass work around the switches and stereo the gauges are more intergrated and i dont have a centre console cos they are ugly the handbrake boot and shifter boot have been trimmed in leather and it looks a lot neater than factory plastic there. im trying to hunt down a rb25 and 5speed which i will detail the **** out of custom plenum, top mount, gate, turbo, etc. with the old fuel system as i want a show car but with balls the engine bay is having all holes welded, chassis rails boxed, intercooler holes welded with new plate, hidden wiring etc. plus i bought some vy gts rims once all this is done its for sale, why i dont know, but i was gonna sell it without those mods but want it to be magazine material show winner before i do, John.

This is the first time I've seen your car John and I have to say I like it very much! What made you change from a six to an eight?

yeah the badge will come off, i like the gauges it only has 10 or so it did have 16 at 1 stage.
i changed to an eight cos its a bit differant everyone has turbo vls so i thought an injected 8 would be a nice change plus im gonna twin turbo it once the engine is nice and run in. i also have a ba turbo so i wanted a v8 as well! John.

heres a pic of the boot it half boxed in, its ****ing hard to fit a fuel cell, surge tank, 2 fuel pumps, fuel filter, fuel lines, battery, 2 x 10" subs, 4 x amps and not have it look like a crowded mess. so far it has the false floor and all the amps mounted to their boards and bolted 2gether, i now have to make the covers for everything to box in the corners, hide the pump and filter etc. already taken about 40hrs and alot of swearing with about 10 to finish it off. i have kept measurements and detailed plans of it all so when its finished if anyone has a similiar set-up i can help em out.
this is the interior after i stripped out the old loom
and put the vt injected 5l one in and got rid of would you believe 7.5 kgs of unneeded wiring, **** it was a mess i reckon about 50mtrs of **** added over the years, gone and replaced with only less than 10mtrs of wiring
and a pic of my mkII ba turbo 5 speed

the engine and trans go in next week then i have to send the computer away, then little **** like running fuel lines, putting interior back in, tailshaft, exhaust etc. will be going by early feb all things going right, John.

yeah i know but the wiring was a mess, plus i had the dash and interior out to install my 2 screens and the boot wasn't to my liking so i had to make it look worthy of the rest of the car. the interior is the last one im putting in it, its the 4th, stock, custom black/grey velour, custom black leather, new leather interior. ive settled on the shoreline rims unless a set of vy gts come up for the right price. their the 9th set of rims ive had on the car, chasers, 15" 5 spoke, 16" vt s, 17" envy, 18" matrix, 17" momo status, 18" monaro, 20" ssa chromies now the shorelines. plus it was a factory turbo 5 speed, then worked turbo with jatco auto, then rajab built turbo motor and 2 speed glide, then another worked turbo engine with trimatic and now vt 355 stroker injected v8 with turbo 700 auto, which will be twin turboed in about 6 months when i save up the funds. the car has evolved slowly from stock white turbo, to mild orange turbo, to insane rajab turbo (had to sell driveline things came up), to wild turbo, to the form it will remain in 355 stroker orange vl with custom leather trim, 19z, insane paint, dumped, decked boot and later twin turbos. i always wanted it to be a show car in magazines and now i've booted my ex, got a new job 6 mths ago earning real good money, i can get her just the way ive always wanted too.
ps: to everyone else building a car dont let a set back end ur hopes, just turn it into a positive and make it even better. ive nearly sold this twice and now the thought of not having it makes me sick. good luck and i hope everyones car turns out just the way they want it 2, cheers, John.
