Painting is 99% complete, going now to have a look and get some more pics. He just wants to know what colour around the taillights is. I'm guessing black, will find out soon.

Off the gun, few more coats of clear and some polishing and the main bit will be done. He couldn't find my eyebrows for my calais front, they either got lost because of my old panel beaters f*ck up. Or they're in bubble wrap and he hasn't found them yet, Obviously the latter is what I'd prefer. Moulds will go on soon, and they're about to order in my front bumper, around the rear taillights will be black and mirrors I'm sticking with the stock matt looking finish for now, but may get it changed to gloss black at a later date. As you's can imagine I'm pretty stoked right now, the fact that its painted means I can start putting it back together and I can have my own car again.

I took some high res pics on Friday - instead of my mobile, but he hadn't made any changes- he'd polished parts of it and thats about it. Waiting til next friday it should be pieced back together. Hopefully it'll have the cal front on soon, thats what I'm waiting for. I may have found a polisher down south through the ford forums. Does his own work and it all looks pretty damn good, just going to have a chat to him and see what he can do for me- otherwise the inlets going on how it is now- and is going to look piss poor.

Just a note: Won't be going FR19's anymore. Unfortuantely as nice as they are, and the resale and all things spoken for, I still can't justify the 3500+ price tag. In which case I think I'll be settling for 19" Concept 5's. Without the logo on the wheel. Either silver or chrome. Yet to be decided.

All I can say is.. FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!!!!! Previous panel beater has screwed things up more than I imagined, first off he doesn't do this and he doesn't do that, second of all he misses out on a few things and doesn't do the engine bay as I asked. Lost bolts, lost parts. Now I find that he didn't roll my guards, or tuck the lip back in. Leaving me now with a freshly painted car, with no changes to the guards, with low suspension and 19's on their way. I think the rears will be okay and won't scrub, adj panhard, but the fronts as far as I can see are going to get chewed. Not very happy.

Previous panel beater is a friend of the family. He didn't do so many things, and his business closed up about half way through my project. I have to admit he did alot for me, he painted my engine bay, stripped the car and primed it for 500 dollars. Which in turn helped out a bit, not to mention 6 or so trips on the back of a flat bed all for free. But **** I'm screwed right now, if I want to get the lips taken back they're talking about respraying the front and rear quarters again. Which is a bitch because the car is about to get pieced together. And I don't want them to redo something they've done in one hit and looks smooth as. If they do its going to cost me more. If they don't it'll chew through tyres. I'm going for a drive, going to see if he can heat it up and do it that way with a roller or something. Fark! Polished cal wheels? nah, can't say I'm a fan of that look.

just went out and had a look, the fronts should be okay, the rears have that sharp lip on the underside that may eat into the tyres if they sit too far to the side. my mates having a hard time finding lenso concept 5's without the logo so i told him to hold out and give me a while and ill see what i can find out. either way they both basically reckon i should hold off until all the weight is back in the car and see what happens.

Don't like the fr18's hey. I think the spokes look too squashed. Nah I'll stick with the concept 5's. If he can't get them without the sticker I'll get them repainted.
