was thinking about doing this to my dash with red lights to match my car but not sure yet. might give it a go with the old dash i got lying at home first probably be a better idea to use the coloured rubbers that go over the lights rather then the coloured gel stuff simply cause its alot easier to change over if u change ur mind later on. That way its easy to turn it bak to green if u need/want to if anyones done there dash in red could u PM with a photo of it or something? Cheers

I was thinking of buying EL Dials for my car - do you guys think that changing the dash lights is a better plan?

Haha, nah EL Dials. "All our EL-Dials will appear as white during the day and luminous when on at night. Brightness can also be adjusted to suit the comfort of the eyes. It does not generate heat, so it will not cause problems within the dash. We accurately design the EL-Dials so that it can easily be installed without having to remove the needles from the gauges. Colours Available: Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, Purple, Orange." About $265.

I'd love to see how they get them over the needles without removing them and without having a huge hole to go over the needle and the centre knob!

I had the EL dials. They were a really good fit and looked pretty cool but when the white dash came out they looked out of place. They're just sitting at home now. Really good of a night when you can toggle between brightness and different shades. The only thing I found was that if you didn't use them frequently enough they'd warp slightly and would cause the needle to stick but maybe a little more adhesive would fix this problem

Hey guys just thought it would be worth a mention, i changed the lights in my vl berlina by replacing the standard globes with led globes. It made my dash light up blue and qit qas quite bright. You can find them on ebay.
