ok as vltrb-o has said : Run the 2 breather hoses of rocker cover to a Y peice then onto one of the inlets of the catch can. Then of the other inlet on the catchcan, run a hose somewhere in the engine bay or under the car with a filter on it. Unless you have no rings on your motor you are not going to spray enough oil on the road to kill anyone i'd imagine. And it's only going to spray if the catch can is near full. Using the plastic tube on the side fo the catch can to monitor how full it is shouldn't be too hard i'd imagine. I have the same catchcan and thats how i'll be setting it up. Hilly Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah if you get a y-piece you could feed both into the one fitting on the catch can, but it's pretty farking obvious the way mine (and most other people with simialar catch cans) is setup will work fine. It's not very hard to understand, for one last time... the only thing it does is add a catch can inbetween a pipe which is already there so it CAN'T do any damage! As the name suggests it simply acts as a filter to "catch" any oil, it's not a mechanical device or anything special so there will be no dramas. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Have a read of this (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=68174&st=20) thread. A member named Sydneykid describes 3 methods for plumbing it up. Fill the catch can with steel wool. The air velocity slows when it enters the can and as it passes through the wool, the oil is drawn out of the air.

Yeah ive just got a catch can with 2 inlet pipes from the rocker cover and on top of the catch can is a filter. When its running u can see the gas venting from it and it works so good because one day I put too much oil in my engine and it blew ****loads from the top of the rocker cover... If this was plumbed to my plenum id be soooo screwed, but instead it filled up my catch can.

As was mentioned the oil/air separators when left sealed (with no filter) and running back into the inlet tract are legal as obviously the waste gases are still going back throught the inlet and out the exhaust. The catch cans with breathers venting to atmosphere are illegal for obvious reasons as they do not recycle the waste gases in any way. hey man nah it was like that when i got it, furthermore the catch can doesnt even have a floor, so i think the oil just mists out onto the road beneath the engine. Is this bad at all for the motor or just bad in the way of being a serious defect? Sorry but this is a bit of a grey area for me Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

But it would be defactable as all the gasses are simply flowing out into the atmostphere (not to mention the chance of moisture, etc getting in there). But yeah you could probably have the same setup, just get a catch can with a filter on top. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Just run 2 hoses off your rocker cover beathers and stick them infront of your back tyres. Then fill your motor with oil. That way when you hit boost you spray oil under your wheels you can do a fully sick fishy all the way home Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Should i get a catch can with 1 inlet and 1 outlet, t-piece the 2 rocker cover hoses and fit them to the catch can and then put a hose from the catch can to the pcv? OR plumb both rocker cover hoses to the catchcan and have a breather on the top of the catch can?

boostnwgn by far has the best setup

ok, so i think i'm going with this... both hoses to Y piece, then to one fitting on the can. run a hose from the other fitting on the can with a filter on the end of it. just 2 questions first.. where can i get a suitable filter for this? and how do i block the hole in the turbo inlet where the rear breather used to be?

Im glad you chose this way, because it is the way the catch can is supposed to function Autobahn for the filter, and unscrew the fitting out of the plenum and go to the bolt shop and find a replacement bung, use thread sealer too... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah what about the hold in the elbow coming off the turbo? its where the rear breather originally runs to..

Bung and hose clamp, just make sure it fits in snugly Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

just took off my cooler pipe and theres oil in the end tank of the cooler. could this have anything to do with how its hooked up at the moment? (same as first pic). or would this oil just be from the rear breather hose thats still going to the turbo inlet, so it would have been there even with no catch can? i'm still tossing up whether to screw around with this catch can or just get one with a filter on top... suggestions?

how often do you have to empty your can? apparantly the PCV is closed under boost, so it won't be catching much oil.. just what i've learnt from this thread..
