Everyone does thing differently and for different reasons. Me, personally.. i would strip the whole car (windows and door moulds included) paint every panel seperately and then reasemble... but most people don't have the time, knowledge, tools, are to scared, or can't be bothered. I've seen people tape cars up (such as this) and get excelent results.. and at the end of the day.. if they are happy with it.. thats all that matters. Good on you for doing it yourself and giving it a go...

agreed. too many armchair knockers out there! also you learn from your mistakes, imagine in a few years when he has painted more cars and is doing great work, all self taught and all cause he got off his ass and did something rather than knocking others work over the internet ffs

pfft i'd get tuffbt1 to paint my car any day, his own vl job speaks for itself and for the cost involved you can't complain unless you are chasing a professional finish, if i was getting my vlct painted i'd go pro but if it was the daily hack something like this would be perfect. Actually thats not a bad idea....

Ur not painting 2pak in ur out door shed are u? Thats alot of dirt u will be polishing out then but if u have painted 2pak before then u already know how different environments effect the paint finish. Good on u for having a go. And i understand ur mate wanted to take short cuts and mask things up. Ive done homeies in the past where ppl have said "ill prep it for u and u paint it" And they leave everything on and go "cant u mask it up?" Makes the job look **** in the end but ow well.

Looks good so far. If I could give you a couple of suggestions but: - Hire a booth if possible to paint it in. You will avoid alot of **** this way and its worth the money. A booth does not cost much to hire for a weekend. About $200 I think. Strip the car right back until its ready for painting then hire a car trailer from a servo and take it there. - Get good quality paint and do not go for the cheaper brand, especially 2 pac. - Spraying 2pac in your shed is illegal. - Where a good mask when you spray or you will get ****ed up on the fumes. - Rip as much stuff as you possibly can. Stuff like trim on the vl and such is really easy to take off and worth it in the end. Good luck with it whatever you decide to do.
