tonner 253's car at the moment has been COMPLETELY STRIPPED and has been for the last THREE (3) YEARS!!!!!! The 253 he's talking about is an A&A Reconditioned motor with all the mods he has said. Hes got a Commodore disc brake Diff (BAD MOVE) and the M20 4 speed box. and he reckons its gonna be the fastest V8 in town! So wat if it blew a VS SS off the road, my once STOCK STANDARD VL RB30E had eaten many a V8 and most of them were SS's, its the driver. So stop trying to be big, cause its only a 253, and stop USING MY ACCOUNT ****!!!!!

I dont know wether you guys have ever taken any notice, But all the wrecker yards that I have been to, all the 253's have their heads missing but the block remains, this is because the heads fit both 253 and 308. Nobody wants a little V8 when you can purchase a bigger version for an amount that would be negligible by comparison. My old man has a HQ SS, which came with a 253 4 speed, He wanted more power so he ripped the 253 out and replaced it with a mild 308 which goes a hell of alot better, and hes grateful he went the bigger option.

either way both of them are dinosaurs, 308 or 253! 253 being a lot worse.. 308s stock leave a lot to be desired and 253s struggle to even dust 202s! thats all they are anyway a 202 bore with 8 cylinders. Yes they rev nice but why rev when u arent making enough power, they have poor flowing heads... a 308 with VN heads is where its at, completely different story!

I have no idea why anyone would bother with a 253, Cubes is where it is at. Looking at his profile the guys is like 18-19, no wonder he thinks his 253 is quick.

I think we have all been there and done that, or something similar. It really comes down to being cost effective, If he sold his 253, and bought a 308 and went from there he would probably be on the right track. Building a car to suit your budget is the best option.

You have to admit they do sound good with a twin system!! & yeah i done the 253 phase for a while until i bought a 308 & they just get bigger from there. SO P1SS THE 253 OFF NOW B4 U SINK TO MUCH $ INTO IT, THERE A POOR EXCUSE FOR A V8

I got sick of everyone telling me my 308 was to small, and to drop a chev in it. So I stroked it to 355. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Quote: biught a crow pro street cam yesterday with .495 lift and a rev range of 2700 - 5700......after i get those i am buying some new push rods hydrolic lifters and roller rockers wat is the best for push rods??? in all seriousness (and in my disgust im talking about a ****ty 253) isnt this 'pro street' cam just a stage 3 crow cam ? (i supose its a pro street if you think 253's are quick) anyway you shouldnt need new pushrods, just get them hardened. to maximise your 253 performance (is there such a thing?) get your heads ported and flow tested and get a custom grind cam also why buy that 'pro street cam' if your putting a blower on? it'll be useless... its also going to be a pritty grumpy at idle (hope youve got dumpers, haha) you might as well flush money down the toilet and i'll go the sewerage plant n collect it.308 all the way. and sorry for bringing up an old topic, just in disbelief why ppl dont listen...

yeah well i dunno if tonner253 is on his P's.. but i know with my hg its got a 253, and i cant legally drive it ( maybe not get insurance either) with a 308 or bigger.. so 253 maybe the only option??

sorry.. just thought about it.. if he is talking about super charging it then he isnt worried bout insurance or legalities of having to drive a 253.. so might aswell go 308 i spose

Sorry to say but my mates stock 83 Corolla bet my dads ute with a 253 4 Speed and since then V8's suck balls, especially 253's. Anchor it and go a Gemini or something you sound like you would have the intelligence to drive one and think it was quick.
