i hated how they were called 4.9 Litres, they were only called that to differenciate them from the old engine. and brock did it to differenciate his HDT engine from the standard holden engine. Really they are not 4.9 litres cause they are like 4.989 litres so its under by a poofteenth. th 5.0 Litre is just over 5.044 Litres. any engine will be slightly under what it is badged as. what person driving a badged 2.0 Litre is going to call it a 1.9 Litre?

As has been stated... the 4cc's that the engine size was reduced allowed a reduction in weight of the car for racing. Apparently the weight of the car was allowed to be reduced by 75kg. About a 1% reduction in engine performance, for a (guesstimating 1300kg car) 6.1% reduction in weight (less weight = better handling/braking/fuel consumption etc etc etc) so it made a noticeable difference. It's more than 4cc's. They were 5044 cc. Sorry for not repeating what anyone else said Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

That's cool, no need for apoligies, easy mistake. Cubic capacity- cubic inches, close enough for me. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

So whats the compression ratio of the high compresson option for the vl v8? (LV2) surly it would have to have more power then the standard one (LB9)? Is the bigger valves the only difference between them?

Im not sure on all the differences, I have an LV2 Motor, It had Double Row Timing Chain, Copper Head Gaskets and Large Valves. Not sure on Comp. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Note; you will still see vn engines with 308 still cast on the crank even though they were 304 specked & thats no Bullsh1t !!! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Thats weird then, because everything else adds up to my engine being a VL LV2 Motor. Hmm Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
