Bextor84: When we checked out RiceBarn i think they come in basic colours made by VHT, but i'm sure there are alot of other brands out there that make heatproof paint, but they may not be wrinkle type..VHT make White, Red and Grey or Black..The red does look rather good considering it is the stock turbo cover but if you have an n/a painting the cover red would look bit stupid if people knew why they were originally painted red, Roy...

Bextor the wrinkle paint only come in Red, Grey and Black. A few people have mentioned they blew off the paint stripper with a compressor or hose. The reason I didn't do this was beause most paint stripper burns your skin and will eat away at anything you blow it off onto. So I wouldn't recommend it unless you are doing it away from anything you don't want to get ruined. And the paint stripper doesn't work very well if the surface is wet so you should avoid using the hose. But whatever way works best for you.

It burns to the **** house and you run the risk of getting it on your car, skin etc etc...Use atleast 2 sets of normall rubber gloves just to be careful of getting it on your hands, have a hose near by for if you get it on you. Cheers guys.. The red looks good but I'm tempted to try a different colour. I might try the local paint shop cause I know the guy, see if he can mix me up a few pressure packs of a custom wrinkle colour.. Cause I'm keen on maroon. Won't be n/a for long though Even though I don't give a **** if people said, your rocker covers red and your cars not turbo... Hmmm Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

But whatever way works best for you. you would be extremely stupid to blow it off with compressed air. just get a container of either thinners or water , both neutralise paint stripper pretty well. and u dont need gloves , it isnt that bad Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i must say both wrickle and flat glossy look good but, as the wrickle paint gets older it seems to come off in chuks, and flat is much easier to clean, like when u get oil or sumthing on the wrickle paint hard to clean, but looks neat, good thread,

Well I've been asking around all of last week, Panel Beaters, Paint joints, asking them whether I should spray it with 2pac or whatever, and they've old told me that no paint will last- long term and hold its colour. They seemed to think 2pac would be a waste of time, so it looks like I'm just going wrinkle red. I also saw that you can get it in yellow and blue, but those colours loose their heat abilities.

i'm just going to use a standard acrylic water based paint straight from my airbrush on mine, i might paint it blue with a pearl in it, maybe blend it ti onother colour! then i'l just seal it with a couple of coats of clear. the rocker cover doesn't get extremely hot maybe only on the exhaust side. should be ok though. good job andy.

Isnt there a rocker cover gasket? and shouldnt you use a new one when re-fitting the rocker cover? If not.. Im painting tomorrow.. Tempus: Thats not your rocker cover... thats a plastic cover for your inlet manifold. your rocker covers are the grey things below and to either side of what you have painted... Close, but no cigar! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah theres a seal. But from what I've read you don't have to replace it unless its busted up. And just make sure its in the right spot when you put it back on. And your sweeet. I'll be painting mine..... Not sure, saturday maybe. Tell me the throttle body doesn't have to come off though, inlet piping and a few screws and thats enough? Please.. Oops, I'm not painting it saturday- might strip it, may get to the painting depending on the time.
