I will see if I an get some newer pics and information on Mick's LC as his thread is seven months old, but nothing much has changed. Pretty sure this about covers it: LC 4 door Torana VL turbo running gear Top mount T3/T4 turbo Front mount VL Turbo 3:45 mini spool diff Full manual trimatic Quicksilver shifter VL dash Quote: Originally Posted by dragme Very nice. however Torana to me just says big block v8 nothing else. do you know if he raised the trans tunnel at all?

Yes he did. It originally had a Jatco in it and when that blew they had to modify the trans tunnel around the transmission area to fit the Trimatic in it. Can't remember what they used for the new trans tunnel might have been an old HQ one... I will find out tonight as my mate's old man did all the modification work and welding for him.

Ive contemplated this quite a few times... especially after seeing CGMFLY! Is it easy to get something like this engineered?

Its easy to get anything engineered... If you know the right people ;p Just follow the emissions etc, and the only thing hard about an engineers cert is the cost... They charge thru the roof.

Engineering is a piece of piece if you can keep all the standard gear. If I was gonna do it again I would use a R33 halfcut and all the gear that it comes with. Im not sure how Im gonna go with the engineer with my GT3540, rajab intake manifold, wolf and injectors though Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

What would a conversion like this cost if you already had the car. So to put a stock standard VLT running gear in and have it all running and road going. Include the little bits and pieces like the floor as you said, and diff shortening etc... im just interested and im sure alot of others are... it sounds like a fairly cheap conversion compared to other high power / light car combo's.

its not cheap. dont think for a minute it will be. but in the end you will have very special car that is worth way more than a vl turbo

Well youd need motor + gearbox... diff... fuel lines and pumps etc... cooler.... youd budget around 5 for all of that. Then theres always alot of little crap that adds up. maybe 10-12k? I think thats not bad.
