vlt rb30 if you take your 253 out to a 308 size bore you will be into the water jacket, the castings may be the same externally but they are different internally. You could get it sleaved but why bother just get a 308 block. BTW the stroke lengths are the same.

Dean haha, i wish it was a turbo, and had a nice paintjob, rims etc. but being a uni bum wit a **** job doesn't really help my project. I'll prolly end up supercharging it before mid next year though. all depends wat job i can score during these uni holidays.

HAHAHAAHAHA i heard about your perfect working order gearbox's phatvl and im gonna pass, already got my gearbox at the right price, cost me big slice of nothing. But im gonna spend some money on it so that it's kinda reliable as the car is going to be my daily driver. Has any stuck a 3000-4000 stall behind a standard auto box??? How were the results? Would this put to much strain on the box itself??? vltrb30: I'll pm you those details tomorrow. Are you sure there is a Northline freight in townsville, just making sure! Are you happy with 250 for box with shifter and clutch? Other things that you may not have thought of is starter motor and flywheel, both of which I have, if you need them. Get back to me on that. I reckon the 253 block with the 304 internals is a mad idea. You'll be able to trip people out when you blow them away and then can tell em it's only a 253, and if they don't believe you tell em to have a look what is stamped on the block. Swity:im a uni student as well, doing education (just finished my second year, two to go) I take it your at jcu? What course are you doing? Is your vl out at uni often? and don't worry I know the feeling of having a **** job and no money. I should have pics posted of my exhaust manifold and t04 within the next few days, just gotta pay for it before i get too carried away. Dean

14.9's hahahahaha i'll be waiting for you at the end of the strip buddy. How can it not be for the right price if it didn't cost me anything? For your information I haven't even spoken to swifty about your stuff. You sent me a PM a few months back saying that you've got a vlt auto gearbox lying but didn't know what condition it was in and that it hasn't been used for about 12-18 months, and now your telling me its in perfect working order??? what do I believe??? CH45ER that intercooler isn't mine it's blue_vl_t's however due to the design of the torana mine will probaly end up mounted similarly. This is because there is no where else to run intercooler piping. thems the breaks. Dean

As you can see this is my new custom exhaust manifold. Im paying for it tomorrow and once that is done im going to get the correct flange welded on to suit my new turbo which is also in the pics. The manifold is meant to be a nizpro copy of some sort and is rather neat, however the runners are very long. The turbo is an air research t04 with a compressor ar of 60 and exhaust ar of 1.52 and will need to be externally gated ... Lag hear i come !!! Seriously though, I want to get an idea on what revs this would spool on an rb30? If anyone has had experience with a similar setup don't be shy to voice your opinion, im more than willing to listen open mindedly. I can't wait to blow the combwebs outta that manifold, and no ... i don't mean with an air compressor. once again, thanks for posting the pics MR30L!!! Dean

Okies fucck everything to do with that manifold, and let's talk about that green machine behind u, cause that looks way better than both the things on the pool table !

duz360: What do you approximate mine will spool at? Did you have a custom exhaust manifold? Do you think the exhaust manifold will make a difference? If i got a decent stall do you think this would help lag? What stall should i get? The green machine is slow, only runs 11's, not mine though. Temporary Australians!!! Dean

Just because your car wasn't what I was looking for, doesn't make me a ****head. cal-a-kid, i'm studying a bachelor of business/commerce, my car will be at uni alot next year. i started the course in 2003, but deferred for a while, so still got a fair bit to go. I hope to have most of the work done before uni starts up again. Still gotta find a job that's gonna give me plenty of hours first though.

Dean o okies slow pffhhttt mmmm obviously 11's stock, can't see that as being slow of the floor, do a bit of work to them and hello low 10's high nines! and after 200km/h they leave most cars on here for dead!

I find out about where Northline is for ya. Yes I do need the flywheel, clutch(pervading its in very good condition). PM all up cost. The block will have a 304 crank, standard 253 rods and 253 +40 ACL High top pistons. cos, Sinister dose that answer your questions? BTW the VK 253 is a dam sight more reliable then my pain in da ass VLT. I hope to have the VK on the road next week (should be a lot less stressed)

Dean no worries mate, well with ur turbo as u know my one is big and it kicks in at about 3500, so therefore your one should kick in about 3000 to 3500 rpm, i dont think it will kick in at 3500 as thats when my one kicks in and as u know my one is bigger then yours, so therefore should kick in at about 3000 your one

i cant say when it will spool up man,but it will be late.id get a .84 or a 1.00 rear housing for it. the long runners of your manifold will make it come on boost gradually and smoothly rather than being "punchy"
