all the commodore and calais are european design what do u think vl claias is?
a guy that i know works at holden and he has said that the next commodore will be the VE, and that the pictures on here could be for the overseas market
anyelse been told its the VE?

Yeah I knew VB - VL are Vauxhall, but I thought VN onwards was actually designed by Holden?

Haha Beat me to it
I thought all the "Commodores lookin more and more European" comments were pretty funny, being that the Commodore 'is' and always has been based on the European Designed Opel Rekord / Commodore / Senator and more recently the Omega
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
I thought that VE was the "brand new in every aspect" commodore.
New chassis and looks all together (like the jump from VS to VT).
And also when the Gen IV comes out, quad cam V8... yum
i hate the air vent on the side, who are they trying to be? bmw or mercedes lol
the BA still looks better.
i wish holden would do a total overhaul and change everything
[QUOTE=OldGold]Loud'nLow, whaddya mean, meant to 'save' Ford? Ford were doing sweet before AU. And even though AU wasn't a roaring success they still sold as many as they expected to. BA was a maker or breaker because they invested so much in itQUOTE]
Agree man, but although ford was doing Ok, they were still behind Holden. I remember reading the stuff about the Periodic Table sh!t in an old wheels or motor mag. I've dug through me piles an' piles of em to find it but I can't, sorry...
The old V6 is dead... Long live the new V6

Yeah and it's being built on Holden's new 'SIGMA' platform, whatever that means. i think it means a basic chassis/engine combo that they can rebadge as a cadillac, buick, commodore etc.
Let's hope the turbo version of the HFV6 doesn't go along the same road as the supercharged V6 which is auto only.
A Turbo HFV6 6 speed would be sweet. I wonder if the turbo variant will be available across the board, or if they'll start out like the s/c donk which was calais and berlina only initially and then filtered down to acclaim (and stato of course) or maybe it'll be like the falcon which is one model only, ala XR6 Turbo.
Will have to wait and see I guess. I doubt they'll do an exec turbo though seeing as they took away the V8 executives and introduced the entry level V8, the SV8.

yeah the new HFV6 is quad overhead-cam (finally)..
and is 190kw NA in the 3.6 litre version, and if holden keeps the 3.8L tradition (which is whats happening), expect more power.
I heard about the turbo 3.6L with over 300kw!
Can't wait.
they says its going to be twin turbo
and the ve will look like the new cadillacs

The HFV6 wont be in all Commodore models. Most likely only the Calais and Statesmen. It's still at least 8 months away anyway. Ford will have another revision of the inline 6 by then, that will be just as good, if not better.
The HFV6 will be built in two places, Canada and Australia. The ones built in Australia will be exported to Europe, while Canada takes care of America and such.
Although this engine is more then capable of being force fed, from what I hear, Holden have no plans on releasing a turbo any time soon. How ever, the likes of Vauxhall, Opel and Saab (other GM brands) will most likely slap a turbo on the smaller HFV6 variants.
Ford Australia has recalled more than 230,000 AU Falcons to fix a potential steering problem.
Ford said today the cars, built between June 1, 1998 and May 22, 2001, included about 13,000 exported to New Zealand and 1,000 shipped to South Africa.
Ford said its own warranty data had revealed a further 28 vehicles of concern.
Don"t think much of Fords.
The HFV6 is already being built at fishermans bend or whatever it is.
Already being exported, isnt it?
I don't see why they would have 2 NA V6 engines..
Twin turbo sounds more familiar.. come to think of it

as far as i knew if u were going to turbo a v8 or v6 you would have to go twin turbo, u cant force feed one side of an engine being a v engine

where did you hear this garbage?
what else would be in the 'dore?
the ECOTEC is dead...
it's ok, you don't have to be jealous, ford fan...
