No, .51 is roughly the same size as a standard HG, to increase compression you need to shave the head or deck the block. the different between turbo motor and NA motor is the pistons not the HG thickness.

I'm sure they have done their job on many many fast cars, especially VL's, but to make very good power, they need to be O ringed, and even then, there is 1500-1700hp 2J's and the like that have nothing more than a cometic gasket with no O rings and no problems. 1 less machining process, and the cometic comes in a range of thicknesses, so for those that are running an NA conversion, they can keep the stock engine and lower the comp to appropriate levels, something you can't do with the stock gasket.

Yes use the stock nissan gasket, they work and its proven with or with out o-ringing, personaly mine was o-ringed and running around 37 psi when tuned on c16 and was fine for years, mind you the standard head bolts stretched during a dyno day at rajabs and pressured up the cooling system when on full song, but fortunately it was still fine with no issues many years after that!!! apparantely this is fairly common with high combustion pressures!! good head studs fix that tho!!!
