13-07-04, 10:13 GMT+10#44 My dads friend use to be a snake hunter and one day he left two boxes in the back seat of his Torana, 2 thiefs decided to steal the car, one of the thiefs wanted to look in the boxes and got bitten by a snake so both thiefs went to the nearest hospital and gave themselves up saying they stole a car and got bitten by a snake in the car, Mr Snake Man got his car and snakes back unharmed.
The funny thing is that this happend early 90's, if it would of happened in the current times then I wouldn't be surprised if the thief would sue the owner and win too.

15-07-04, 14:11 GMT+10#45 I bought one a few years ago as my mate had one on his VK. I put it on and pushed on the lower lever and it fell down exposing two pins which u can push up and then u can get the car in gear. Takes a second to do. The Vks don't have that and they can't be pushed down, however surely ain't that ahrd to break the lower lever making the padlock fall past. Get a immobilisar at least.
I have a rhino alarm insatlled. Immobilisor in fuel and engine, alarm and boot release. Nothing special with gps tracking and all that but i feel a bit less worried. Car is parked in the garrage at night.
One of my dad's mates owns a SS Commodore that is supercharged making 650hp at the wheels. Anyway he has one of those coveers over his driveway thingy. No door just a roof thing. ANyway he was naturally worried about the car getting stolen so he devised all these chains that would be chained around his wheels and into the ground. Cost him a bit to do, but anyway he thought he might as well test it to see if it would hold. He went to his neighbours beforehand and told em to ignore the noise and smoke that was going to come from the garrage. Anyway he gave it a go, wrecked his rear tyres and mudguards 9there were photos on the internet) and broke the chains.
This idea would work for a car with less than 650hp but. lol

16-07-04, 17:43 GMT+10#46 cut the start signal wire to the ecu. wire this up to your demister switch.
and when u cut it wrap the harness back up with black tape so it looks stock.
thats if u dont use the demister.
when u go to start it turn demister on...little red light will come on then start it.

16-07-04, 22:33 GMT+10#47 take the reverse polarity relay out. It is usually hidden near the battery against the inside of the panel.
Car won't start properly without it and no thief is going to know it is missing (They will now though after reading this thread).
If you have a VL Gregory's manual it will show where it is exactly

15-09-04, 20:31 GMT+10#48 probably not the best idea to explain every singly possible way to prevent thiefs from stealing/breaking into your cars on an internet forum where they can just browse through and keep up with the new ideas and concepts of it all...
