car crazy. i know you dont believe me.i have nothing to gain from saying this.
honestly why else would i say it if i hadnt done it?
Man i dont know, i have had so much trouble with axles, i have both freinds with wagons and sedans (All vls) and we have never been able to change them over because of the length difference, i even went and spoke to the diff man across the road to confirm this. He did say he has seen wagon axles cut down for sedans and sedan axles in wagons but it wasnt a real good method as the tip of the spline just fits into the centre.
Maybe you have a modified set up, holden did run of shorter wagon diffs or everybody is nuts lol.
No disrespect intended...
well if i was to put sedan axles which are supposedly shorter than the wagon axels i should have no problems right. im wanting to fit 8 inch wide rims in the back of the wagon and at the moment 7 inch is scrubbing the guards and yes i have an adjustable panhard rod with shorter axels this should stop my current wheels from scrubbing the guards.
so now when i get the sedan axels ill measure them up with my wagon axels and ill give you measurements.
but car crazy is saying that the tip of the splines just sit in the centre, so is this going to cause any problems?
Can you tell me if you still have the VL turbo wagon axles. I am helping my son try to find a 28 spline axle for a vl turbo wagon. He lives on the gold coast. Do you still have them, are they what Jason is after and would you sell one. If not do you know anyone who has one.
Please contact Jason Hill on [phone removed] urgently before he has to have one manufactured.

I just done this to mine
I have a manual VL Turbo Wagon, Manual, and recently just got a N/A VL Wagon, Auto. The housings are the same. I rolled my diff out, and rolled the other in (My diff is screwed, center noise, and twisted housing). Rolled right in, changed it from the drums to my disc's. This is only a temp solution. Since the housings are the same, I'll be hunting a LSD center, and change it over, and put my vlt axles in.
If I found my camera, I'd take pictures of both housings out, and all the axles out,to show all the size's.
Tell you one thing for sure, n/a axles are so tiny. I can see balloons tied to my feet till i get the right center
