Yeah but what I'm saying is even if you take the coil lead all they have to do is pop the bonnet and swap a cylinder lead for the coil lead. and they are off.
i guess im a luck person as the RB20's dont have a coil lead or a dizzy
i know when my car got pinched originally from Crown's underground carpark, one of the security dudes said to me that they had a sting operation one day with the police as car theft was happening too often so they had cops in plain clothes etc and had vid survalence, they said there was a group of 5 ppl went up to a VS commodore(these cars had only been just released) within 5min all 4 wheels were off one bloke was under the car and another was pulling stuff of from the engine, anyhow the cops swooped and got the ****s, the cops searched the 5 ppl's homes and found like 10 cars and numerous car parts laying around the places..
so it doesnt matter how much security you have on your car, if they are goin to take it they will,
I was lucky when mine was stolen all they did was drive it down to cranburn, took all the stereo out of it airflow meter, battery and steering wheel, they broke the part around the stereo getting it out and they also took the center caps from the calais mags, like the towtruck bloke said you were ****in lucky it wasnt burnt to the ground or any pannel damage

Nah you can't do that the boots are different on them so it won't plug into your coil.
I feel sad a determend theif would bother spending hours to steal a VL. I mean, there a good car, but these theifs arn't to bright.
My VK calais has an alarm and that's about all. Maybe I should change the LED to blue to make them think it's a sophisticated alarm

well just do wat ive now done..... bought a wolf 3d computer... can even get close to starting the car without puttin in a pin number on the controller...... no fuel or ignition = no free car!
I wonder if ya could hook up 2 l.e.d's to an alarm, 1 red, 1 blue, to flash together, and that could somehow deter a dumbarse thief, possibly reminding them of cop lights?!
i found a cheap satalite tracking system. it tells you where your car is and you can immobilise it, when it is taken and lock all the doors
www.rojone.com.au (http://www.rojone.com.au)
the actual system costs 985 with no monitoring fee's using a sim card in the sat tracking unit.

i only have a vl exec, but it's worth securing. i've been thinking on ways of securing it and ppl say remove the coil lead. that's stupid - sure the caps are different on the spark leads, but do you think that would stop someone using one - a silly rubber cap ? i think not. they say remove the puter in it, yea that's a good idea, but then they just plug in another one, so i think i have a solution. how about getting your computer and changing the wiring on it, in such a way that if they try to plug ( you rewire your computer to correspond to the wiring) their computer in and boost your car, it blows out they're computer. that way not only will they not have your car, they'll also be down a $50 odd dollar box ! hehe any thoughts on how the hell they'll bypass that ? most theives arent too smart.

1. Or a towtruck driver
2. Or had a piece of rope or wire to tow your car with his
3. Or just rolled your car away
Face it guys there is NO magic answer to stop car theft, despite claims to the contrary

But they don't need to start your car to take it
At the end of the day it only takes 5 minutes to unlock a vl, put it in neutral and load it onto a tow truck. Generally if you see a car being put on a tow truck you just assume it is broken down. There is no need to start it.
