Yep, i will definitely have GPS tracking on my next VLT.
I am now officially looking for a new Calais VLT. Hopefully will find a fairly stock low kms manual, but that's probably wishfull thinking.
So many people around me question why I even bother buying another VL turbo, since the car is an outdated model, etc....but they have no idea what owning one for so many years can do. It's like being in a cult, and the fact is, they are getting rarer and rarer, especially ones in mint condition.
Anyway, thanks again to everyone who has replied, even to all you bashers out there. I tend to think in the same way, i feel as though i would be willing to kill if i caught the person in the act of stealing the car, but one never knows who they're dealing with.

my brother thinks i should hire a psychic as they can tell names and addresses of persons who poses your personal items, all i have to do is supply them with a previous part of the car ( i still have the rear parcel tray which i was repairing)

did you get an insurance payout? build another VL?
The thread is 5 years old!
Insurance payout, yeah, i had neglected increasing the value insured, so didn't get much.
As for building another VL, i'm into originality now, so only untouched clean examples for me. I would love a totally stock unmodified HDT VL Calais LE turbo, low k's, factory 5 speed, showroom condition. I've been looking for one of these for over 3 years now, and had missed out on one by a couple of months before i first started looking. (It's in WA now, the owner frequents this site too, and picked it up for a top price back then)

Geez! This IS an old thread. Mine was stolen the same year.
I had mine for just as long before it was nicked. It becomes part of the family after awhile.
There *may* be hope though. Mine was seen "re-birthed" driving around town so there still IS hope for you.
