Midz: For your imformation im not selling anything that is unproven my stroker kit is still being made in the US and the purpose of this post is to find out if people think there would be a market since ive got the finance and my engine builder and engineer hae the know how i am considering going into buisness to offer affordable alternative to the jap stuff. Never did i say i was the brains but i do know and am learning quiet a bit about engines if you would like to test me intellect go for it but if you want to shoot me down you know what you can do with your opinion of me

Sounds awsome! Anything to push the limits of an Rb30 is a good thing!! Even if it's just to shut the V8 boys up - "Rb30's can make 1400hp, i'd like to see you 308 do that!!!"
Seriously though, good luck with it, you'll crack 1200 with those parts/specs for sure!
Will the custom parts be available seperatly eventually?? And would you build bottom ends with standard treated cranks to make around the 1000hp mark?? Would be alot cheaper to do it this way i would expect.
Cheers.

This has already been done on a 308... on pump fuel, at the wheels. I think the top three horsepower hero cars this year were 308s. They were all Commodores, anyway.
the top three HP hero cars were orriganly, 2 304's and 1 5.7L gen3 block.
none of them 308's
GR8NES: go for it mate, even if you fail. people need to push the limits and prove people wrong sometimes so everyone else can benifit.
you should consider selling your parts seperate, i think you would find there would be a huge market for stuff like that.
How come no-one seems to use dry sumps on VLTs?
Probably I guess cos no-one circuit races them... but still, there's power to be had with the crank not dragging through oil anymore, etc etc?
The custom parts will be avaiable seperately in the future and i would only sell complete bottom end using the billet crank to use the standard crank you would need to buy everything in the kit minus the crank

Yeah, yeah, i know. Just mean it a s a 5hit stir, cos it's such a small engine in comparison. And "your 308" as in the person your bragging to, their actual engine
GR8NES, If you used a standard crank, would the same quailty rods/pistons be cheaper as they were 'off the shelf' to suit an RB30? Or doesn't 'off the shelf' exist for the quailty of parts needed?? Just wondering for when you start mass producing the 1400hp bottom ends, to have a standard crank option for around the $12,000 mark to make 1000-1200hp??? Just an idea.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
Only kits with all the goodies will be sold, any other combo would need to be bought as seperate items as im not doing the R&D as to how far the standard crank will go

Guys,
The thread discussion about the piston squinters was deemed to be a entirely new topic, showing courtesy to GR8NES it was split to a new topic titled RB30ET tuning discussion, unfortunately the net connection dropped out during the move and it has disappeared.
All I can do if offer my sincerest apologies regarding this, Ive created a new topic for this discussion and others and hope you guys can really get into discussing this topic without the mess of two different threads making a mess of each other.
I for one are very unhappy that this has happened and hope we can rebuilt it again as it was incredibly interesting

as far as I see it, without the crank, all you are getting is a crank girdle, coz the rest is std custom order stuff that plenty of engine builders can order to your requirements.
Your right Brent except for if these engines prove to hold up to that sort of power, It would be good to know the block preperation and all the little other things are up to scratch. It's hard to find a good engine builder!
But i'm just not interested in a stroker, and beleave a preped standard crank is well up to the task.
There's a chance it would work out cheaper to get it all done at the same place too. Usually works out that way??
Well like i said earlier i will offer these engines in either standard stroke 86mm or stroked 93mm which is a choice of either 3000cc or 3200cc, as far as offering the complete bottom end assembled with the standard crank if someone is willing to pay the price then it can be arramged but no HP ratings will be supplied as im not testing the standard crank for these HP levels and it will be used at the buyers own risk at power levels over 1000HP. And for anyone that has tried to order parts for anything to do with RB26 and RB30 they will now that it is not as simple as ordering the required lengths since once the manafacturers match these up for parts that they make for the big Jap brands they stall you etc etc since they have a privacy clause one major manacturer did this to me for 4 weeks on a set of head and main studs.
And besides i know ive got a good engne builder thats why i am trusting him with this project, contrary to many beliefs there is no black art to building a strong RB engine

I dont think Carillo, Cunninghan, Wiseco, JE, CP would give a rats a.ss if you ordered a set of custom rods or pistons that hapened to be similar in specs to a std RB engine. this is what they do on a daily baisis.
Studs, Billet main girdle and filler in the block up to the bottom of the stat housing is all I would be doing for block prep (apart from normal "dressing"). std bore would be your best bet too. Id be gathering lots of std blocks and getting busy checking bore thicknesses first.
