Well i went out to willowbank again tonight... Out of my 2 best runs, my 660ft times were: -10.515 @ 108.64 km/hr (16.208 @ 87.40MPH/140.65KPH) -10.553 @ 109.86 km/hr (16.196 @ 88.06MPH/141.72KPH) So would still be around the low 9's id say.

I had 5 people in my vl, and about 100 kilo's worth of crap in the boot and i managed a best of 10.31 0-100 using my mates stopwatch on his watch. say 1400 for the vl, 70kg's per person and the 100 kg's of ****, and its 1850kg's. i havent been able to time it anyother way.

NExt set of lights he just looked at me and i laughed.

My VL does 0-100 in about 11-12 secs, 1/4 mile in about 18-19 secs, engine has done 350-360,000 ks approx (been flogged by previous owner), with pretty much no mods, just a Hi-Clone and a crappy exhaust. Now tell me why it runs so crap?

Ditch the hi-clone Instant 4 seconds haha nah, but I imagine it'd be restrictive. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

VLRB30ETT: Have you got the 2 hi-clones or just the one? My car is just under 300,000km's and still does consistant very low 16's. Yours is auto though aswell isnt it? I'd say it will have something to do with the age and condition of your engine. Have you touche your airbox before? If not, get rid of the snorkle thing coming into the box, maybe cut the mouth a bit wider to let even more air in and get a much better flowing panel filter (K&N, Splitfire etc.) Easiest way to make power out of a N/A is to get more cooler air through the engine. Next time your out at the drags just take out your air filter all together and see how it goes then. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Nah, the Hi-clone isn't meant to make it less restrictive, its meant to swirl the air. But I haven't seen the shape of the one for the vl, but all the others I saw looked extremely restrictive.

yeah my N/A auto VL (284000km) with Extractors and 2.5" exhaust (no cat) will crack 0-100km/h in around 8.5 seconds, but where it performs best is between 60 and 170km/h, when it gets up on its cam in second gear it just goes and goes, nothing can keep up it (except maybe a Turbo or a late model V8), not bad for a heavy old Calais.

My 87 N/A auto (done 143 000km) did 0-100 in an average of 9.24sec completely stock, since then ive done a custom CAI, and set the timing to 19degrees and now manage an average of 8.72... I cant figure out why its so fast!!! ive checked everything for modifications and its stock... At the lights i beat every Vl im up against(unless its engiens been worked in some way or its a turbo) and i have even beaten 2 turbos(must have been **** turbos but hey) Cant wait to see what it can do with a complete 2 1/4 exhaust(including hi-flowcat) and a few other mods I got planned 

You got to make sure you use an accurate timer (i use a sports type stopwatch i acquired for my previous place of education) and to be accurate i reckon you need to do at least 5 runs and average it...

Yep that would be best cause if they are on the passanger side they could get inccorect reading, possibly 5-10km out... isnt that right bex
