They are never preety, but you can't make a final design as its something that is usually under constant re-development. I've said it before Brent and i will say it again. Your VL is really a piece of art. dropped a second with the wing / front bar, high speed grip has been improved heaps. Thanks for the comment, its good to see some VLT guys appreciate going round corners too

Hey I would like to know what did you do to your car to make the handling better?

um, a fair bit... spring rates are approx 5 times the stardard VL rate. shocks are custom built for the car. swaybars are custom with the front bar being 50mm and moved to behind the steering rack. there are no bushes left in the car, its all now rod-ends. rear 4 link geometry is changed. camber is approx 5 degrees negative front with 1 degree negative rear. roll cage is welded in various places in the car to make the chassis more rigid. all suspension arms are custom chrome-moly tube. front and rear track have been changed. wheels are wide - 9" soon to be 10". tyres are race slicks. walkie front and ford touring car rear wing blade also have helped heaps. hope that helps. Cheers Brent

with the higher comp, will you still be able to run the boost you were before? What kind of power figure will the bottom end be good for now with those rods? will you be increasing the rev limit?

The plan is to run similar power (hopefully at 3 psi less or so) then use a switch on the dash to use 2 bar, avgas aint bad compared with pulp so it will run 2 bar no probs on 8.0:1, have run 2 bar on occasions already. I have a 3 position switch on the dash that will be: WET - 18 psi DRY - 24psi QUALIFY/PASS - 30psi bottom end rating.....um 700+ at a guess? hard to say really RPM limit will be up, by how much i dont know, I want to have a few 'looks' on the engine dyno to 8k to see how bad the harmonic is on these things, im guessing 7400-7500 limiter.

unreal, sounds like you will have a much wider power band too, with the higher comp probably knocking a few hungred rpm off the spool time. I remember you mentioned limiting peak torque as to not stress the factory rods to much, would this new combination allow you to use the GT35 to it's potential without having engine internals holding it back?

It will be very interesting on the engine dyno to see how the new combo works and where the power / trq has moved to, cant wait. yes, the dip at peak trq in the boost map will be eliminated and the 3 degrees in the pk trq area will be put back in, the overall timing map was quite soft, so im picking it will still be fine with the higher CR, may even sneak it up by a degree or 2, will find out soon
