Thanks guys... The guy at Autobarn said to leave the paint a few days before i wax it so i'll do it on Saturday after its had some time to dry fully. It does look HEAPS better i must say.
I will be doing the interior (where its yellow) with the same metalic blue when i can find be bothered getting a can of it.
If one of you guys in brisbane wants to lend a hand fitting the springs, speak up now and there'll be some beer's in it for ya.
87 DEVL - mate i haven't got the berlina/calais lights in yet but the will be soon.
don't know about the VS but to change springs you have to have a ball joint removal tool for the fronts. if the VS has a live rear axle they will be easy, like my car was. need some spring compressors though.
oh and aside from my constructive comments, if you don't care what people think of your car then why are you always posting threads like "cleaned up the VS to a reasonable state" just so people can flame you and tell you it looks like ****?
From what i've heard, to do the front springs you need to undo the tie rod ends and then just drop the struts out of it and but the new springs in.
Its a live ass in it so thats piss easy, jack it up, spring compressors and swap em over... dead simple.
Anyway i now have 4 FE2 height springs sitting in my boot anxiously waiting to go in...
And Stocky... i only posted this one up because after all the bull**** thats been passed around and said at the last bbq and ****, i've FINALLY done something about at least cleaning it up and i thought that maybe if i showed you all in this thread, that you might back the hell off and leave me alone.
nah but you're missing the point, if you hadn't have posted this thread in the first place nobody would have flamed you.....
it's not that people hate your car, they just don't care
He's posting - and it may be handy for the people that have a vs, you may not care but alot of us do. I don't have a vs but its always good to see what people are doing to their cars.
I agree 100%. At least Rob has a sense of humour and doesnt take it all personally. Sure some of the Brissy guys give him sh!t but its all in good fun others just try too hard to be cool joining in when they dont know him or his car. This Lexcen bashing is worse than the age old Holden Vs Ford crap. Keep on posting Rob, I dont mind reading about what your doing. Least its different and it keeps you busy. Some people bird watch others rice up Lexcens

Sure if you don't care that fine, don't read the post... you're the one that clicks the link to view the thread so you have nobody to blame but yourself.
As for ricing it up... i'd done that, now i'm just cleaning up the mess i made of it.
anyway HELP!! i need to fit these springs. Basically they will have the gaurds sitting about 20mm above the top of the tyres. Still not up in the gaurds but thats fine with me. There's beer and some cash for anyone who can help fit them

a retarded monkey could do the rears, but the fronts are a different kettle of fish. do the rears yourself in like an hour with some spring compressors and get a mechanic to do the fronts. NOT PEDDERS!!!!!
Oh yeah i'm doing the rears... my 13 year old brother could do them piss easy so thats not the problem, its the fronts i am a bit iffy about.
Andy if ya see this and haven't got ya PM, please check it.
I can't be ****ed waiting till Saturday to polish it, if thats paint isn't cured by now with this heat i'll be a monkeys ****ing uncle. I'm doin it tomorrow after i've pulled the interior out AGAIN to do it metalic blue.
Finally i'm starting to like the car again...

Theres alot wrong with Pedders, before I found out this I still despised their useless products and overpricing.
- Painted red and overpriced Monroe Shocks
- Taiwanese made bushes that were once supplied by super pro who make one of the best bushes on the market.
- Pedders Lancer Rally car that runs "koni" because the pedders gear is too unreliable.
- 14 point Safety Checks that leave you walking away with $2000 quotes
- Ron Pedder sticking it to his franchisees and generally making everyones life hard.
Its all on a website an ex-franchisee set up.

I'm sick of the sight of spray paint, sikaflex, electrical tape and **** but its finished for now.
Pics below.. please be nice.
As you can see, the springs aren't in yet but the interior is body colour, the small black face gauge is gone, the side moulds are off, the clear indicators are on....
And yes, i know the 'S' badge is a bit ricey and i'll cop **** but it was VERY cheap from a mate who got a 5 finger discount on it.
I'm happy now....
EDIT: Cold Air pic up.
