28-12-03, 08:31 GMT+10#41 As of last week in a local soundoff, I made 149.8dB with 2 x Clarion 15"s and a Kenwood Class D Monoblock. I hate sedans!!! The same stereo in my old coupe made 150.1dB

what do you call "cheapish"?
Better doing it right once, than spending upgrade $$$ buying a crap amp first then buying a better amp later! My original possibility was an Audison VRX1.500, which cost nothing close to $900, NZ or AUS!!!!!

i really hope you arent implying that Caliber are a crap amp?? Just because it is cheaper than say an audison doesnt make it crap. Caliber supplies clean power and actually makes the power it states. Only reason for the relatively cheap pricing compared to others that make similar power is that they are still being introduced to the country and breaking a brand in that nobody has heard of is no easy feat. By offering the lower introduction prices, more people are likely to buy them and gradually caliber will earn the name it deserves. If you actually opened one up you would see the internals are identical to several "brand name" amps such as crossfire.
/end rant

I *like* the calibers: wasn't running it down! I was just explaining that $900 was good value compared to the Audison!

09-01-04, 17:19 GMT+10#51 exactly, caliber amps are great and are priced really well.
while people rant and rave about sony and pioneer, quality products like Caliber dont get the respect they deserve.
