yer first post, maybe, i use to be a member on here ages ago wen i was like 16(i'm 19 now) wen my first car was gonna be a vl calais and well as it happens i didnt get one and i cant remember wat my log in was back then, but as i've decided to sell my fj20bluebird and go vl turbo i signed up again, and all my money and work is goin to dave because i have no doubt in his work, and if somethin goes wrong i'll know he will look after me. So dont pay out his work until you have tried it, if you havnt dont say anything bad, thats all.
im sorry whats the quater mile time of a supra ? and my cars eat them. with minimum mods.
Acl gaskits don't *** up, haven't you read every last post......only copper has.
lol funny funny, yes i'm 19 so i dont know heaps about VL's but after talkin to another mechanic thats does jap motors and alot of performance stuff, and is building his own 700hp at the wheels VL turbo has told me he would be pushin to do the same thing that dave is offerin and that is for himself, if he didnt love doin his own work he woulda bought a motor off him. But alot of ppl i've talked to in the past has loved his work and prices are pretty good. I'd like to see your car go against his before you put down his work. But thats the only bitchin i'll say on here, coz i hate reading forums where thats all they do.
its simple::
If you have somethin done by him n dont like then i recon by all means post and say it was ****, but if you havnt tried his gear then dont say nothing bad because then you wouldnt get posts like this on here backin up his work.
Supra's are **** when comes to 1/4 mile times. They are not built for it. Get into some real cars!
Get real and talk about real cars. Lucky you don't live around here as there are a number of 10sec streeters that would hose you of the road quick as look at ya. So yeah....... LET'S LINE THEM UP!!!!
i actually think my first post sums up nissan gaskets the best
ttvlman's girlfriend - im not knocking ur engine building prowess , but if ur saying that to be a top notch mechanic you gotta have a fast engine , then i think ur a wee bit wrong , sure a fast engine is good , but reliability is far more practical.
im sure i could slap a big mofo turbo on the side of a n/a engine , boost it like a dog , and race you , sure it might detonate midway thru the run , but hey itd be a fast engine , does that make me a good mechanic.....................line up hey
a.c.l is proven to be much lesser quality than nissan , that is purely why ppl pay the money for a nissan gasket. get over it
Where is it written that a Repco head gasket is better or worse? Why don't you put one of them on? That's what makes the difference between an engine reconditioner and a performance engine builder.
she neva said nething about her engine building prowress. or stupid hi-comp engines.
Iv'e never had 1 blow up. And Reliability is on the agenda, but not comprimised by money.
i.e there's nothing wrond with ACL parts, and no i don't work for ACL.
any amount of boost on a n/a engine would detonate, simply cause of incorrect compression rates. and would blow up mid run when the knocks would push the rod out the side, or something alike.
AND i drive VL's. due to the power to weight ratio's that can be obtained, with that level of handleing.
GTSGIRL (hopefully her last appearance)
stop ya whinging all of ya! if you want me to get into what makes a good mechanic i can start writing u a book... starting with environment, appearance and cleanliness... leading onto min req of a decent w/shop in terms of tools and reference material (because we are ALL still learning arent we?) then progress to OH&S and general morals in the industry.
then we have quality of oils and tools, day to day servicing supplies (ie: we can all get worried when people are using silverline filters) and so on....
why dont you all just get over the fact that YOU think you're headgaskit is better than the next guy and take into consideration the fact that the words ttvlman are typing/speaking are backed by how many years of experience, mixed with how many hours of READING and research and all topped off by the abilty to do the job properly the first time, with an F'ing smile on his face with no customer complaints to date??
obviously... you all just want more than you have or, unlike ttvlman, you arent willing to open your mind to the world of possibitlities....
everything that allows us both to live the life we have chosen was given to us by our work. his part selection is a major factor of every job he has done and how many years down the track, its only gettin better and they AINT COMING BACK with any blown ACL bits.
funny that they come in with the real deal genuine sh!t blown to bits first....
btw Repco don't make head gaskits anymore........but 10 points for using old stock.
but i do purchase my parts from repco.......and all my motor's outperform stock.

COME LINE 'EM UP!
i believe this relates to how well she can build an engine , like i said i am not knocking her engine building or mechanical prowess , infact i think its good to see a female in the workplace.
nor did i say she was talking about hi-comp n/a engines.
ttvlman... if ur planning on establishing your own business anytime soon and having any kind of success.. its probably a good idea not to make yourself look like a cheap wanna be performance engine builder on a forum where alot of people know just as much and some even more than you do yourself.
Also tell your girlfriend (retard) to shut up, because she is making you (somewhat intelligent) look like a right twat
I know for a fact already that i'd never come to you to have a 'decent' engine rebuilt. As im sure alot of others here wouldnt aswell...
Do you in fact have a business name at all ?
I'm sure a lot of people would be interested to know it.

So this mechanic who builds 700hp@wheels vl turbo's does he use a $7.50 head gasket ?
If not, why the hell not ?
Tell him ttvlman and his girlfriend said they are good.
This is getting hell funny like 14 replies in the last hour.
Come on exchaser! Of course he wouldn't tell even if he had one. He knows that would be the finish before he even started.
Yeah, his woman sound like she knows more then he does? I'm up for a grease and oil change
