do you have to change ur rego..tell vic roads that it is a converted turbo or wat do u do there?? do u have any problems regerstering insuring an na motor if it never came out turbo??

It will require an engineers certificate to make sure brakes etc are all turbo items otherwise you may find your rwc will be void and in the case of an accident if the assessor picks up on it you may be declined for an insurance claim.

yeah the page is real good, but at the moment the custom dash page is down, i think it would be good to show instructions for adding a berlina or Calais instrument cluster with tacho. because i know a few people who want to do it but dotn know how hard it will be, including myself

for the tacho dash u jsut swap it striaght over.. the wires are allready there and for the thing about rego etc.. i rang vic roads and they said if the turbo conversion is factory for a car of that model then u dont need an engineers certificate..only if u use non stock parts, like twin cam head etc..

yeah, but i think that if you were converting you would want to put the RB25 or RB26 head on because then you got twin cam so it can rev alot harder, and might lessen turbo lag, not sure about the lag tho

"If you're building an RB30ET and use a VL series 1 engine block, you need to put a T-piece in the oil pressure sender hole in the block and use one of those for the turbo oil feed line." This is the way L28's with dealer fitted turbo's worked, T piece from where the oil sender unit is to feed your turbo oil, Then you run a pipe from the turbo to the top of the sump (high as humanly possible on the sump) and make a hole for your new oil return line to go to, Or alternatively put holes in the block and tap them to replicate series two block, For the water maybe someone can help me? "Get a copper T-piece to connect onto the heater pipe (maked in red) and run a rubber hose around the back of the engine for the cooling of the turbo." If you are using a series 1 block how do you route the water back into the block?

has anyone done the conversion and not changed the fuel pumps? how did it go? and do you really need a decomp plate? thanks

Yes, stock pumps, they are identical, the NA setup just doesn't run a surge tank. Don't run a decomp plate, Un opened NA motor. Made 135rwkw on 6psi, now run 12 all day everyday. I've got my ecu Nistuned though which i'd recommend, or at least some for of aftermarket ecu if you're running a bit of boost. You need to trim up the timing map in a few spots with the high compression, a much better solution than just knocking say 10 deg out of the whole map by adjusting the dizzy.
