they are a standard disc that has been drilled after wards. I'm going to try them out and see how they go... I have not heard good things about DBA and they are so much $$$

I'm suspicious of cross-drilling anyway, but the idea of cross-drilling standard discs (ie ones not designed with cross-drilling in mind) thrills me even less. :?
What problems have you heard about DBA? Just interested as in the long term I was going to fit DBA slotted disks to my VL.
they crack. Not sure if you'd get the problems unless you drive it really hard though... No probs with slotted, only crossdrilled.
I thought that DBA drilled standard rotors anyway. I don't think that they are cast like that???
easy way to check if ur bearings are a little loose , have the wheel off the ground , and give it a good wriggle from side to side , if u can physically feel it move or hear a dull metallic clunk coming from that area it is , either repack , which is not always needed , or take wheel off , take the bearing cover cap off , take pin out and tighten the nut up one or 2 turns , put it all back together and ur sweet
where do half you people buy your brake pads and rotors from??? 600 bucks for DBA gold what for all 4?? plus brake pads
as for the drilled i dont see the point in a street car having them V8 dont even use them no more they just use slotted ones....
well i know i will be going to sebco i think thats how you spell it can't remember to get my brake pads from
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
tempest115, DBA's may crack, but they will be far more reliable than the ones you have there. Those discs you said you have sound dangerous!!! If they fail they could have a catastrophic failure and puncture the rim at the wrong time.
You are playing with fire there man.

I've been quoted $240 for a pair of DBA slotted VL-turbo/V8 rotors from Supercheap.
American auto parts sell them for $180.
https://www.americanautos.com.au/cgi-bin/fccgi.exe?w3exec=aap.control&formname=prices&a mp;newform=product&option=DBA17X
dba prices at repco:
Front Slotted: $119.75 each
Front drilled & slotted: $152.50 each
Rear SLotted: $92.15 each
Rear drilled & Slotted: $126.80 each
bendix rear pad set: $35
fronts: $41
thats not trade price at all tempest115 they are about the right price its more closer to $130 from slotted fronts per rotor... but it depends on who you goto to get them from in the end some places sell them less some sell them more it really does depend. When you say trade price tempest115 how much do you think they really are??
ok well this is what happens they go from the the DBA warehouse to the place that buys them from DBA, DBA sells them per rotor at a price then the compnay that buys them puts what ever on top and sells them.. and the same goes for brake pads...

ok when you say theses pads which ones do you mean coz there is afew different ones to buy...
ok. given that from state to state the prices will vary marginally, they should all be similar.
This is QUOTED from my receipt:
Retail inculding GST for slotted DBA front rotor: $161.99
Trade price was $110 including.
these prices were from december.

Yeah, of course. same as any other business. but different places get different discounts from DBA (depending on quantity bought) and of course the reseller puts different margins on them....
