04-04-05, 18:08 GMT+10#41 I fitted some Pioneer 6x9's in the stock shelf not long ago. Took me an hour to do with a jigsaw. I used some plastic spacers to fit the speakers in. Didnt want to cut any metal so it is still legal. I fixed the speakers to the spacers and the spacers are bolted on the shelf. And then I slip the shelf back in its place, wired the speakers up and then put the seat back. I dont get any vibrations and they sound pretty good. Sound way better than wat they did when they were in boxes in my old gemini.

13-04-05, 13:32 GMT+10#42 nice parcel shelf marmo, only thing about craft wood is if theres the slightest bit of moisture in the corner, this could even come if its really cold outside, that part of the wood will expand, so as a safer alternative people might wanna use mdf instead, just as cheap i got an offcut the right size for 16bux, it was 9mm, i wish i got thicker now, would have cost only 20bux for 16mm

Cheers grokes
easy fix buddy all u have to do is get a normal or electric plane and put a 45 or so degree corner on the shelf so that it will look something like this /------ obviously with the angle on the top of the shelf. this way the back seat has enuff room to slide in easy.
ATMO-BT1 if u need any help buddy i got alot of free time now cuz i quit my job so if u wanna come over one day ill make u a shelf no worries just bring the materials dont worry bout $$$ :P

Cheers for the tutorial, it helped me quite a lot. Myself and a mate just pulled the stock parcel shelf out and stuck some auto carpet to it with the help of some kwik grip. Chucked the 6x9s on with spacers and it's all good.

06-04-06, 20:11 GMT+10#46 thats alrite then, hav u got a sub underneath? cos the sub is what'll get it rattling
btw keep an eye on ur carpet, i used glue similar to kwik grip (diff brand, same stuf) and after a while the carpet started crumbling cos the glue came thru a lil and made the bottom of it harden, as a precaution dont eva touch the carpet!!! lol, easier that way

bitumen paint
carpet underlay
bolt it down firmly
hey guys i just did my parcel shelf and have an important hint!!!
important
when i cut my parcel shelf i laid the stock shelf over some mdf and traced the shape and speaker holes (stock calais positions) THNIS DOESNT WORK!
yes trace out the shelf but cut it and fit it BEFORE drawing the speaker holes.
mine didnt line up, because the stoick shelf is moulded and the mdf obviouisly is flat the holes were about 2 inches off meaning i had to cut a new shelf.
hope you boys read this before cutting!

16-07-07, 19:35 GMT+10#49 mine was the same story as above but as i used 6x9 spacers didn't really matter actually was better then i had more room for adjustments
and as for rattle i used the original carpet type material that was on the bottom of the stock parcel shelf under mine no rattle thus far
i made it from just material from spotlight with thin foam pulled and stapled and mdf/chipboard spacers i made up with a jigsaw
