I did the dash swap prob a year ago could never get the oil gauge to work. tryd heapz of diff senders, swapd wiring harness still nothing. Got the gauge checked it was fine no problem with it. i gave up till last nite was playing around with it and i took cluster out agian and theres a lil nut on the back of where the oil gauge is and i just tighted that up heapz tight put dash bak in and now shes works, WTF all the rootn around and it was a easy fit like that, gauge moves alil at idle but stays highish when driving. That would b bout right wouldnt it coz of diff oil pressure. So ppl check the lil round nut on back of your cluster is youve done everythnig else but it still not working. As for the ford sender its bit diff the thread is bigger on the ford ones (from the ones ive seen) hope this helps some ppl. Good luck. Damo!!! ~86VL5SPD~

they are no longer available new. i tried holden , nissan my parts guy even went to the VDO head office. Only option is rare spares have one for a 5.0 but it needs an adaptor fitted to fir the RB30. I just put a wanted thread up in the forums and waited till i got one. Just gotta find time to fit it now.

For the sender wire do you use the existing blue wire ? How does this connect to the berlina pressure sender? Can you use an old holden pressure sender with a simple clip?

Yeah i have tried both the blue wires. I joined the original slider clip on to the blue wire that had been cut. For some reason there was no slider clip?? As for the cluster. I made pins to give the oil gauge power etc. Is there a way to test the oil pressure sender eg. using ohms on a multimeter at dif pressure. similar to the CTS tests??? I sent a PM to VDO but had no reply yet. Are you suggesting i use a VK oil pressure sender??? Would i then need to use the gauge as well so they are compatible. Cheers for the help. If i can get this gauge to read properly then i can finish the custom face plate i am making. If all goes well i'll be making them for sale....

Did this fix the other day since I put my new motor in, was fixing the odometer with a new sun gear and thought while I have the dash out I'll fix the Oil Pressure Gauge, went to repco and bought a female universal stereo wiring loom pulled one of the crimped wires out of the loom and used that to insert into the Pin 2 location, then spliced it with the wire from pin 14. 12-001-Universal-Male-ISO-Radio-Wire-Cable-Wiring-Harness-Car-Stereo-Adapter-Connector-Adaptor-P.jpg (http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/attachment.php?s=be0fa1dcc97076581fe67241dd1f4b6f&attachmentid=61656&d=1383384746)
