Thanx to everyone who stopped on the side of Smith St. when my mates MR2 broke, I appreciate it even though no-one had tools to lend. Andy, Jeff, Jay and Im assuming Aero (sorry dont know your name) thanks guys, and gals. Turned out to be a busted radiator hose or something which was pouring coolant all over hot stuff in the engine bay which was making all the lovely smoke pour out everywhere. Had a run in with a member of the constabulary about being parked where we were which was fair enough but the guys attitude stank. Oh well, all's well that ends well.
Did anyone see the pile up near the Juliette Street exit (southbound) on the freeway in Brisbane? It was quite large. I counted 5+ Ambulances and no kidding, 15+ cop cars and bikes. The entire freeway (sth bound) got hearded off at Juliette Street. I wonder what happened outside the obvious.
Well it would appear the MR2 wasn't the only casualty of the night.
My VS only JUST (2:45am) arrived home from Surfers on the back of a tow truck at an expense of $227.00 Not to mention the cost of replacing yet another Alternator... and this time the battery lead to.
To top all that off, smart ass me went through a cop on a bike at 130km/h so i now have the anxious wait for the photo to turn up.
Also great to see that nobody saw me standing there waving them down, i saw Jay, Andy, and Jeff go past and nothing, when i put in a quick call to someone i was told that it was too big of an inconvenience to swing back.
Thanks guys :?
ahhh **** rob - i didnt know u were broken down was thinking of swinging back to say bye as i though i'd head home after the cavill pass... if i had known i would have come round to help ya.. (dont think there was much i could do if it was a stuffed alternator)...
pete - i was already down the coast - once again, if i saw ya, i would have pulled over and helped out - i always carry a whole heap of tools in my boot...
on the way home - coming along smith st, coming down the hill to the servo on the left (near the lights).. saw 2 vl's SCREAMIN along goin the other way havin a race up the hill... got down to the servo - copper had his lights on coming out of the servo, fishied a u-turn through a red arrow and took off after them - anyone else see them ??
going up the highway, near ormeo (spelling ????), saw a motorbike copper in the left lane just as i passed him, he slowed down parked the bike on the side of the road by the big concrete barriers there and got his radar out.. hope no-one got caught by him..
saw that acco on the highway by juliette st too... HEAPS of coppers, ambo's, looked like some torago van had gone up the back of a bus - couldnt be sure - kinda hard to see... whole highway was closed - so i suspect a fatality of some kind with that much attention - traffic was piled back for a fair while on the other side !!
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
pfft trev , yeah right
he stalled f uckers out of it and then dropped it , no half throttle .
i left longer black marks and was still in front when we both backed off.
if u dont believe me then i will more than happily line up again.
traction probs or not.
maybe the fact that ur peice of ****e was so far back that u couldnt see whi was infront may have something to do with ur definition of who won
Hey sorry guys i missed you. I ended up having to muck around with my panard rod and didnt get down there till late. Then you know, you get held up with mates wanting to do one thing......Anyway hopefully i'll be better organised next time.
Catch ya later

Its all good, he got it fixed after one of our mates did a runner to three different dervo's looking for tools and other stuff.

Didnt see the two VLs but I was pulled at the Caltex on Smith street while my mate filled his ZX-7 up and three cop cars went flogging past doing the twice the speed of normal traffic af this huge pack of cars, would of been over 40 cars in this pack. Most were pretty decent too.

He got some lady in a wagon or something when I went flogging past. Would have got me if he would of kept his light off. I saw it a mile out and slowed down to 90 just in case.
That accident looked horrific. There was nothing in the paper or on the news about it all today. Strange. Maybe tommorrow. I want to know what happened.
haha i saw those two vls pulled up lol
and rob dude.. i didnt see you at all on the esplinade (i think it was) jay says to me ahh that was rob, he waved.... didnt realise u had a problem at all..
oh well..
overall it was a pretty boring night..

i didnt see you either and not wanting to sound rude but i wasnt planning on trying to get back thru cav and then along the esplanade again. it took me over 30min from one end to the other already , not only that i was rather tired by then too.
Ah its ok fellas... there was f**k all you could have done to help anyway, once an alternator goes, its gone.
Turned out to be a crap night... not many cars out, through a cop at 130, busted alternator, $227 for a towie and then a hangover the next morning.
