holden are playing catch up. people are getting excited about all these new big things holden are releasing, but by the time it's released, Ford will have nicely tuned their new range, and yet again holden will be left behind

351 I could be wrong but I thought Holden has dominated for the past 20 years. That doesn't warrant them having to play catch up 'yet again', its not a common occurance.

Just to jump back a few posts, the reason clubbies get done by SS's over the quarter, and particularly 0-100 is cos of shorter diff ratios. Sounds stoopid, but with the holden six speed being the slick piece of engineering excellence that it is (not!) both of these tests involve an extra gearchange. And the way GEN 3's need to rev, you're better off to leave it in gear and let it pull for a while. And by the way, the XR6 is a dead set weapon. It's even with SS in a straight line, and would annihilate it round a racetrack or section of twisty hills. Any car that has 500 Nm of torque at 4 grand, and 90% of that at 2 grand is a damn good ride in my book. And I'm sure it's going to get a lot better in the next 2-3 years

Try 6-7years dude. I think the XR6T has suprised everyone, even Ford themselves. They're struggling to keep up with the demand!

Hey ... I was just walking up the street and I saw a nice XR6 Turbo Ute, and I was thinking - Is this the first ever Performance Turbo Ute in Australia? Besides your turbo diesel 4wd utes, there aren't any Petrol Turbo utes, that can be used for a hard work load, yet also for performance.

Sleaze I could be wrong but I think Holden have dominated ever since the VB Commodore. Fords sales dropped dramatically after the woeful XB. But as I said I could be wrong

The Ford Falcon was Australia's most sold car up until the EB/ED. The EF / EL was the most sold car in it's class. Then there was the AU - that's when sales dropped and the VT boomed. That was about, 6 years ago?
