Preserved from CalaisTurbo (partial recovery). Original authors and dates are shown; archived members are not current Holdcom accounts.

Master Cylinders and front hoses on these cars are now well past their use by date, just replacing the hoses and using a good quality OEM fluid (I use Castrol Response Super) and Genuine GM VR/VS HSV pads (expensive but worth it) will improve brake response and pedal feel immensely.

What's the HSV pads worth ? only ask because I'm looking at EBC greenstuff ones

I already have discs in the rear, is there any difference between the rear brakes? Are the V8/turbo ones vented or something? Mine are solid Yeah I never have any problems with stopping, I guess I dont push it that hard though. Oh if the 3L brakes can stop the weight of the V8 I should be fine. Where did you get your cert done, hdtgts? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

All VB-VL Rear discs are the same, only the Turbos and V8's got upgraded fronts. the HSV pads were about $120 trade but that was a while ago now. Would never go aftermarket pads again, theyre either nice and quiet, but dont stop for ****, or stop really well but are noisy as a ****.

Mine are non-vented, I believe V8 and Turbo brakes are the same all round. Certz, Neil Fraser, 0274956286 - He's based in Beach haven and is real easy to deal with.

Is the company called Certz? Haha, so my odometer hasn't worked in a very long time.. and now my speedo seems to be ready to die it's going a little nuts.. maybe it's time to put the other cluster in (but the speedo problem is more likely at the gearbox end) I looked at motorbikes today.. can't decide what I want, secondhand magna VT250 or a new Intruder VL250 for the same price, helmet/jacket and all that are cheaper from the VL250 place(and I'm pretty sure they're all identical items..), but the Magna is a much nicer bike, but the Intruder has a 2 year warranty.. and that's the situation I'm in! You guy's who ride bikes (road or otherwise) what are your opinions on Honda/Suzuki? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

You know my stand, if it aint orange it's a lemon !! But if you had to decide between them - both are pretty solid brands so to help decide look at there cost of parts and what their back up support is like eg workshop etc...

Mark Stokes certed mine with factory 3L brakes and decent pads http://www.lvvta.org.nz/ONT-authoris...Certifiers.pdf (http://www.lvvta.org.nz/ONT-authorised%20LVV%20Certifiers.pdf) With decent pads, fluid and suspension the 3L brakes can work really well

Lol I didn't know you like orange.. is that what KTM do all their bikes in?? Well the Suzuki has the 2 year warranty (unlimited KMs) and has done 0KMs, so that's good. I sort of prefer the look of the magna (they're bigger) but I just looked for some videos on youtube and I couldn't find a good sounding magna (I suppose there's no such thing as a good sounding honda? ) and there was a few Intruders both with factory and aftermarket pipes.. the factory ones are pretty good, and the aftermarket ones are ****ing loud I don't really like the wire spoke wheels but I think that's what I'm leaning towards.. Maybe I'll organise my basic riding test for next weekend, dunno how well I'll do.. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I want to see how I go on one that doesn't have me so cramped up first, I sat on a VTR250 and the pegs were so high up. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Whilst everyone seems to be on the subject - Neil did mine also. He was quite good to deal with and altho he didn't pass it first time it flew through 2nd time round. Needed shorterned shocks to keep the rear springs captive and stuff like that. Brakes wise he certed my VZ SS twin pot calipers and 296mm discs with no problems.

how did you fit 296mm discs thought the hub type only were 290mm and do you need to cert bigger brakes?
