Just seen in the for sale section after posting this.
Probably has one of the nicest original interiors I've seen. I checked it out a few years ago. Exterior paint needs a little tlc but is very straight and original, and with optional sunvisor and Holden mats.

Been dreaming of buying that car, but it was well out of my price range!
look after it! looks like A great buy!
Needs a colour coded HDT mail box grill
The honey comb/ ice maker grill doesn't suit it!
Pretty good buy for a HDT one. I'd bet they're actually rarer than A9Y's. Problem is nobody has any records.

Hey Mate, is the dash the normal sandlewood colour, or is it a lighter colour?
I have a HDT wagon, the problem I have is the dash is a lighter colour than sandlewood, but I do not know if its original or been painted...

Yes its the normal colour. The dash pad has faded on this one so I might replace it. Luckily my VLCT is Sandlewood interior too (plenty of spare bits).
Happy to send you some photos, I wouldnt mind seeing the trim on the rear seat in your one...

Yeah not too bad a buy needs some work, been looking for a Calais wagon for a while not many over this way.
cool i love the hdt wagon better than an a9y any day. as long as it is verifiable. and in your case id say its so clean and untouched it has to be legit.

That's ok about the dash pics, I have a complete sandlewood setup as I thought it had been painted, and trying to put it back to orig.
Yeah no worries about the seat, looks like yours from behind, and from the front looks like a early model VL Calais just for a wagon.
