cheers guys ---------- Post added 06-10-10 at 14:53 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by Rb3o [View Post] Thought about it, Ok guys im desperate as here, Went to change the thermo stat and fcuk thers a broken bolt on the housing so i got it all off drilled into it got the easy out kitand that snapped off in the bolt!!!, Took it to the garage they cant get it out, What can i do they said go engine reconditiners get them to get it out, Surely i can try something else? fcuk now that the easy out is broken of in the remenants of the bolt it makes it a d!ck load harder . . so its in the block not the housing? . . you might get away with the two bolts left and gasket cementing pluss the gasket to get a seal . . . or take the block out . . strip it . . and spark erode the broken parts Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

can you tap a new bolt hole near the broken one? ---------- Post added 06-10-10 at 20:41 ---------- possibly drill a series of very small holes around the easyout and that may loosen the easyout

Weld a flat bit of metal onto it then get some vice grips. I broke a easy out and 3 drill bits in my exhaust stud, was nearly going to throw the head in the bin. I got the grinder with a cutting disc/blade on it and cut a grove in it too which also made it move a little. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Just in the middle of tidying up (hiding) some of the wiring in my engine bay, and relocating battery to the boot, just want to confirm, I run the positive lead from the battery straight to the starter motor, then tap everything else straight off the starter (ie all the other positive leads that used to come off the battery)?

if you can fit them all on to the stud or run a smaller + to run all the auxillaries, probally feed to the fuse box location but if you want the simple way to do it' run 2x 25-35mm welding cable from boot to where battery was and lug pos-pos neg-neg

Ok, but I don't need to run a neg cable from boot to engine bay do I? can't I just use the chassis as earth?

just been through the same thing Hayden. I just ran a 0 guage pos cable from boot to starter ,then one from starter to alternater.and earthed the batt to chassis at the back, then earthed the gearbox, engine, and all old earths to chassis. fun job.....
