Anyone know anyone possibly interested in my 5L Calais. The love is gone, don't want to leave it sitting around going to waste. Has about 9 months rego on it. Working on a FS post, might get it up later. Bit lazy at the moment, that's how low my interest in the car is at the moment, lol.
Change rims and paint your moulds up, once it's gone you don't get to drive a light steering light weight again, put a momo on it and pretend it's an HDT? Would be a shame to see it sold off.
It's all coming down to money, I just don't have any to throw at it anymore. Priorities are changing, I want to get out of debt and start saving. Might just throw a cover on it and forget about it for a few years.
Im feeling like that with my VLC too, it needs basic exterior resto like paint and moulds, but i dont have the time and i'd rather concentrate on my SL for now, so im just keeping it as a daily, its so crappy looking i can park it anywhere and not be worried about someone stealing it!
Sounds like my Calais at the moment. It's screaming for paint all over, the motor has 300,000k on it, and while it's still running good I don't trust that it's going to hold out if I keep driving it, so there's a rebuild coming up in the near future I'm thinking. And being a carby 5L it's not cheap at all to run, especially when it was last tuned to run on 98. Speaking of tunes, it needs to be done again, I have replaced the inlet manifold and fitted headers/exhaust since the last time.
I could cancel the rego and just put it on laid up insurance again. Had no issues passing the last blue slip so I'm not worried about doing another down the track.
It was only ever intended as a weekend cruiser. If I stick it out the plan is a full respray in original colours, rebuild the motor and possibly go straight gas. And convert to manual if there's any $$$ spare.
Anyone got any spare VT-VZ thermo fans? One of mine has shat itself, Holden want $330 just for the single fan. Not sure if the individual fans are the same from VT on, I know the shroud is different but I don't need that. Let me know if anyone has anything.
And my VL is for sale if anyone's interested. Moved up to an LS1 VZ Calais, very nice.

I cant be bothered getting defected down at the foreshore (brah!), lots of tools hang around down there too. What else is there to do? we need a drag strip..
My mate went through a rbt set up in town the other day. Cop didn't say anything 2 him so he thought he was all sweet. Few weeks later got a EPA letter in the mail. Game over lol
