This will be shameful on the police and will give others who need that little edge extreme confidence to try it next time out. And to admit to it means you're guilty and i guess we have some that are just that tad bit smart about bragging... Just like those Police TV shows, they only show the people they catch, never the people they don't... ---------- Post added 11-07-11 at 19:10 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by PROGMH [View Post] Not at all. You plaster the fact that people are escaping and everyone will do it and try their luck. Same with drug baron, we are shown Border Patrol/ Border Security shows where they catch people, yet how many people successfully smuggle drugs and contraband into the country illegally? I don't think you'll see government officials/ customs telling the public how many people illegally smuggle drugs into the country nor will the media be stupid enough to publish such stories.

AVL wrapped it up pretty nicely. I don't think it would be in the interest of the government to be reporting on statistics that don't agree with their agenda. Can you also see the media doing a backflip on the hoon laws after plastering hoons the cause of all of Australia's problems? Would make them look pretty stupid so I doubt it.

Where are you getting these percentages from lol..

I'd believe that 21,780,280 people dont give a f about burnouts out of more than 22 million..

I agree with the hoon laws and I myself have been done for hooning (2 yrs ago), I just think that there is not enough money put back into race tracks/events to create a solution. . If you banned kicking a footy on the street but there was only five football ovals in Victoria I garuntee people will rather go out for a quick kick on the street than drive an hour or more to do it on one of the five ovals. Caulder park is great for drag racing and is the only venue in Vic that I am aware of holding consistent weekly events , and it's still over an hours drive to get to for me , then there is winton race way which is 4 hours away . Sanddown raceway is close but when is there events there ?? Wher is the public skid pans ?? Why isn't there adds on tv encouraging hooning at these venues show ppl going sideways and racing and having safe legal fun in a controlled environment have famous drivers(F1,v8 supercars, WRC, drifters) on the adds encouraging such events if these events were created and advertised i believe hoons would rather go there than risk it on the street and loose their car. I attend Caulder park every few weeks to race and spectate it's fantastic it's safe fun and most of all LEGAL

Yeah they do need to focus on more important matters but, those matters don't make them any money unlike "hoons". Are they going to get any money from arresting a junky smacking up in a kids playground? nopeee they go where the money is its all about the $$$$$ these days they couldn't really give a **** about a junky smacking up or some drunk's kicking each others heads in, in the city.

We as tax payers fund the government and to an extent police to keep our country in order. It costs them money to uphold the course of justice (not pervert it alas corrupt police officers during Melbourne underground war) and it sure would be pretty concerning if they (the police) only solved severe criminal cases provided they were paid to do so... but then again they are paid, doesn't the government keep the proceeds derived from criminal activities and obtain assets from murderers to pay for damages etc?

http://www.weeklytimesnow.com.au/art...test-news.html (http://www.weeklytimesnow.com.au/article/2011/07/14/357625_latest-news.html) A MAN is dead after a high-speed police pursuit involving stop sticks in Victoria's northeast early this morning. He reached up to 130km/h in the chase from Benalla to Glenrowan before ploughing into a tree just outside of Wangaratta, the Herald Sun reports. The drama started after police spotted the blue-coloured Mitsubishi Magna with number plates believed to be stolen. Officers activated their lights and sirens in a bid to pull the car over in Benalla but it sped off. Police started pursuing the car about 2.25am, heading north along the Benalla-Winton Rd, which turns into the Glenrowan-Winton Rd. The driver, in his 20s, reached speeds up to 130km/h but slowed through Glenrowan - the town best known as the scene of Ned Kelly’s last stand. Police unsuccessfully used stop sticks – a strip thrown on the road with barbs, teeth or spikes pointing upwards to deflate tyres – at the corner of Wangaratta-Glenrowan Rd and Wangaratta-Main Rd. The Magna drove around the sticks and continued for about a kilometre before veering off to the right of the sealed bitumen and hitting a tree near Delloro Rd on the outskirts of Wangaratta. The car caught fire and police pulled the man from the car just after 2.30am. The man died at the scene a short time later. His death brings the road toll to 169 – nine more than this time last year. Read more at the Herald Sun. If this man got away would they have reported it?

How often have you gone searching for legislative changes that are affecting the other problems in the community?

I guess it could be, i won't argue with you on that, but when it's plastered all over the news it's a bit hard to miss, no? When they're made they are usually announced, when's the last time you heard of one that was in your view for the better? The latest one made was in regards to taxation... carbon tax Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
