i dont think ppl in here were really having a go, just keeping things light.
will def be good to see how it performs with some more work at the track

If you are doing this hydraulic BEN D'ANNELLO RACING must know something noones else knows!
What lift and duration are the cams, or is that TOP SECRET?
I would not say that it is not possible to make it with hydrolic lifters my engine still runs hydrolic with 256 poncams and it makes just over 700hp at the wheels on 28psi and there is still more left but i am not having a dig at anyone.

thats inside the body, like thermometer lol but basically, you can get some decent heat from inside your hand! 25 degrees compared to 15 degrees is nothing to sneeze at, it's nearly 65% increase

well i just stuck a digital thermometer in the palm of my hand then.
its the type you stick under your tongue and i held on to it till it beeped for a reading of 36.3 degrees palm temperature and i just looked on my fridge which has internal home temp of 20 degrees and no heater is on.

On this car very first run it made 870hp and there was no one in the room because i was standng next to Matt at the front, then it made 700hp & 500hp because the vacum line came off the blow-off valve half way through the seceond run then the boys put it back on for another run. I didnt see the last 2 runs because i had to watch from the side they wouldnt let uss stand at the front becasue the car is such an animal, and those last 2 runs where 890hp, i think JET3LT made 700hp peak power and it was no way as agressive as Nigel's car but it still made awrsome power. Hats of 2 both crews. Was good to see to vls in the top 2 for power in victoria.

Yeah mine was being a bitch, had probably another 50hp to go in, but wouldnt make the boost on the dyno. I was 6psi short, but like I said to my tuner, i was stocked cause i drove it back on the trailer and didnt break anything for a change. Even the dodgey lsd i put together myself didnt break, more good luck than anything.
Lets be honest though, dyno runs mean sweet fuck all, you cant cheat the track, and thats where we both belong. Going to be some good racing hopefully once i get the diff sorted.

It did make 870hp, I can vouch for that, and it kept losing traction. Dump 3 boys in the boot, and 3 in the back, and it read the extra hp. Seems logic.
Dont think there was any dodgies, I tried recording it but i got asked to move away from the front. I might have a vid of how/what they were holding prior to it being ran

I find the power level believable as QWIKVL made 540rwkw with a unported twin cam head and powerglide and this car has 'race port twin cam' and is manual
but there is one thing that makes me think it's mmmmm lol .....

zzz this is why the VL scene sucks - too many people talking sh.it and bagging each other.
Maybe it made the power, maybe it didnt? Track times will show what it did. If it runs a low-mid 9 sec pass in 5spd trim - then its got the power to back it up.
Dyno is just a tuning tool - too many people rely on it to prove that their car is better. Fastest down the 1/4 mile wins in my books. If Nigel and Ben can setup the combo to run 9.5s or lower - its got the goodies and the power to match.
10.5s with a f.ucked 2 step and leaking manifold was a top effort. I was there and saw it run + heard the leak. Heathcote is a pretty fail track to drag a manual on - none of the powerful cars could hook it up right. The Gemi was wild until 3rd, BA XR6 till 2nd and even the clapper vls that were stockish running 12s were loosing traction on the start line.
I hope it holds togehter so it can drag at calder and run the 9s it deserves.

^^^^^ Exactly. When are people going to understand that dyno readings mean nothing, absolutely nothing. When my car gets tuned i don't get no pretty sheet telling some bull**** figure, me and my tuner ignore whatever the screen is telling us because it has no relevance.
End of the day you can have a genuine 700kw at the wheels but if your on the line building boost all day or you need 5 passes before you can get a hook and pull a decent et, then you've been beaten and your knocked out by an 11 second daily. Drag racing is drag racing, comparing PB time slips and dyno figures is for little boys on the internet
Forgot to add- tuff as car, good work
