a quick calulator check puts all that at about $18.5K. The more i look into this, the better an LS1/LS2 looks lol. A quick look around and apparently i can buy and build an LS2 with 6 speed manual box for under $15K.

Yes i know ill have to add brakes, diff, tyres, ect but still its a good price for whats included.

I possibly could. But if the two different setups (turbo 6 or N/A 8) are going to cost (ball park figure) around the same. Id rather have the built LS2 and be more stand out. Plus you cant beat the sound of a worked V8 haha. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I'm using a VLT Diff with 3.7 gears. Trust me , Run a standard ls2 motor with cam and springs (Bolt on gear) With a glide you will see low ten's. If you want nine's look at a shot of gas to get you there. The Ls2 motor heads are great and the bottom end is strong. Dont muck around and pull the motor down if you dont need to. Find a Ls2 on ebay or eagle auto's in brissy. Also holmart have them at a good price as well. Here you go http://holmart.com.au/online/category5_1.htm Complete L98 Ls2 For 6,270 bucks. I've seen them for under 6's for sale , just need to hunt around for a deal. Contact GM motor sport they buy them by the container load.

Yes ive seen the engines on holmart. Spoke to a friend of a friend today, and he is going to see if he can track me down an engine and box out of a wreck from down south, while i continue to search QLD. Ive thought about calling EFI about doing the swap, but im scared ****less what they will quote me for a drive in-drive out job. Im sussing out how much i can do myself, or get done cheap. Then ill see what they will charge for the hard bits. oh also, the power figure ive been quoted by many people to crack low 10s - high 9s is about 600hp at the fly. You think i can see that without pulling down the LS2?

Im with richie$$ with his comment on standard engine with top end work as these engines really do wake up with top end work. wilson33 Whats the most powerful and quickest car u owned or driven???

haven driven a couple of average powered cars, nothing in the 10s or 9s though. If i had to guess, id say they were like low 13 second cars? I see your point, but at the same time, would you like me to go rent a 9 second streeter for the weekend so i can get a feel for them?...

From a safty and getting used 2 power point of view u better stick with that standard LS2 engine then later look into top end work dude. When u want more hp u will be looking at another say 3k max and that includes cam, springs tune and what not, and u will crap urself from the power and torque increase. The way i look at this project for u is to get the engine in with the rest of the drive train and get it running, get used to the car and its power and set it up right before u chase more hp. I had a EF XR8 with a 400hp 347ci stroker and C4 and that was a weapon on the street and a true 11 second street car and it can be a hand full at times.

it will be getting done in two stages. Ill be getting the standard running gear and having it fitted and work out any probs ect. I will be using the car in this time before any power mods are done, so im sure this is enough to give me a feel for it. Even after the work is done i dont plan on just going out first time, flat stick with my eyes closed.

Ballarat 8th mile has no cement barriers and is pretty much in the middle of a paddock... heaps of run off room if things get out of hand Last time I raced I was sideways halfway knocking over witches hats.. eighth mile with an obsticle course thrown in Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
