06-11-09, 14:33 GMT+10#62 I can't believe how picky some people are.
RB engine, 3.0L displacement. End of discussion. Bolt on's have nothing to do with raising or lowering the cubic capacity of an engine.

06-11-09, 15:36 GMT+10#66 Think of this, most magazines list the engine purly as what the block is (factory) jus as i said before. Than thats why there is a collum for engine and a collum for intake.
Dont see ppl going L98/LS1... No its a LS1 and on the intake list it will say L98 Heads.
RIPs motor is what the block is... 26 or 30 not sure my self.. With a nice mod list to read.

That's exactly what I just suggested, however M stood for mechanical injection, not manual.

Can you clear this up [T]Matty. The way I read what you said is that wether it's twin cam or single cam, aslong as it's a 3L RB bottom end then it's an RB30? Is that right?

EDIT: im saying i agree with you aquabat, RB30 no matter what the head is.. a head is a bolt on accessory, nessersery or not, its a bolt on.

Im not sure on the ins and outs of it but it could be cause its not the factory engine, which does sound stupid as heaps of cars have non factory engines. It needs to be registered with the factory rb30 and then engineered later with the 25/30 I believe.

He's hardly gunna claim fastest RB26 is he, when it has an RB30 block..
Why don't you go huff and puff to Zoom, who printed the front cover "TYPO" you seem so hard up over...

10-11-09, 19:46 GMT+10#79 An RD30 would be deisel. With a petrol head, its no longer an RD. If you want to go by the RD30 bloody naming then you have to call it a 26/30, you can't have it both ways you have opposite arguments!!
So let me get this completely clear. If the engine has an RB30 block, but a 26 head, it should only be called an RB30. But if you take an RD28, make it petrol, so no longer having the D suffix, and 3 litre, it should still be called a RD30. Thats all kinds of weird and f ucked up right there
