i think that firewall doesnt look to cut back at all i dont see why there would be a problem with that for st289 maybe put a dash in it and problem solved.

Haha, not too much at all, they don't allow a little slot for a fuel rail in a 20B Rx3, how do you call a 6" recess around the firewall not much lol. The rules are stupid, they need to allow firewall and tub mods so that anybody can run any shape body with any engine under 4 litres and keep the diversity in the class, rather than all build RX7's like I did as its the only one that fits the rules really easily. Gives me the sh1ts really as I would have built something else 6BOOST Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Anthony tells me that the car will be 289 legal as soon as they put a dash in it, i really hope it is because as you say the class desperately needs a bit of diversity... prefferably piston Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I even spoke with him 2 weeks ago about rear wheel openings, as if anyone seen the orange gemini at jamboree with a rotor in it, altho a bit of a shi tta now has big plans, and we were gonna scrap the idea as David Baker said that if the front and rear of the gaurd were cut by any measurable amount to fit bigger diameter rubber that it would also make it illegal, and 26" tires only JUST fit a gemini, needs quite a bit cut for 28" tall. Like I said, I couldn't care less, the limitation of any car at this level is the tire size, the gemini has no advantage over say a 13b gemini without the engine set back in terms of chassis performance, same goes for rear ends, who gives a **** if you cut the gaurd to fit the tire as long as its done neatly and looks stockish, they allow clutchless boxes FFS, as if its any less "street" orientated to recess a firewall a little and neatly cut the rear arches 6BOOST Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Kyle don't they have to cut the guard on an RX3 to fit a 28x9? That would exclude most of the field. I hate how the rules are open to interpretation Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I hate how the rules are open to interpretation Yep, they do, and 27 of 29-30 cars in sydney at compact attack were sent letters for non compliance. I don't know car by car circumstances, but if the whole field was judged by the letter of the law, they would be ineligable. The fact of the matter is, Ray Box has the last say at sport compact events, as its not technically an andra sanctioned classing event, and for this reason a lot of cars would get let by at these events. But say for instance, I finish my RX7 to the letter of the law in every aspect, and I was to race the Gemini at something like the Winternationals, or any of the RX3's with modified outer gaurds, and protested their car for non compliance if they beat me, even tho I'd probably end up with a fist in th eback of my head, their car would be disqualified. I never would, as I said above with my view of what the rules should be, but as an example, if someone with a legal car protested one of these cars at an andra event, there would be some very angry drivers out there. Back on topic and enough discussion about eligibility of the gemini or any other car, whens the gemini racing again?? Cheers......................6BOOST Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
