11-07-08, 09:35 GMT+10#61 Are there any manifacuters out there release new E85 cars? My Missus 08 Toyota Corolla it is meant to run on E10 over regular. Will we see other cars come out in E85? Also what is done during these conversions to run E85?

16-11-08, 20:59 GMT+10#65 Its in Hoppers crossing, you need to tune your car for that fuel, it uses alot more, therefore needing larger injectors for the same power.

20-11-08, 18:39 GMT+10#68 I have seen 5 petrol stations in area that have E10.
Shell in Thomastown, Liberty in Reservoir, United in Reservoir, BP and Caltex all have E10 at the pump.

20-11-08, 21:52 GMT+10#69 United in Hoppers Crossing is the only servo selling E85.
It will be the homologated fuel for v8 supercars for 2009 season, so hopefully should see it a bit more wide spread by then.
I will be running my circuit FD rx7 on it in the coming months when it is up and running.

22-11-08, 16:23 GMT+10#72 Yeah not good for a daily driver if there is only one servo selling it. Once it is used in V8 pooper cars, it should become more available, every redneck in their V8 will want to think they have a poopercar of their own.

22-11-08, 23:30 GMT+10#73 I would rather stab myself in the foreskin with a pen then run that crap
No need to run it anyway, dont need head ache of paying more to the Govt mates in CSR , am not stealing food from the poor by using masses of land for crap rather than growing food so people can eat no rooting my cars fuel system or rubber seals not needing to upgrade my fuel system not needing to pay more for fuel per distance travel
Alcohol is a con in ANY ratio

23-11-08, 01:32 GMT+10#74 but what if we're environmentally concious... and would just like to 'do our bit' with the use of this new renewable source of fuel to offset all the years of driving around with no catalytic converters, boosting unnecessarily and wasting fuel and emitting excessive carbon emmissions.. lol ?
I think E85 has quite a few up sides.... and there really is not much required to change in the fuel system to start taking advantage of the fuel...

I dont know if the fuel will be quite 110octane.. i think its rated between 105 and 110?

wow you wink alot.. Man ethanol is a byproduct of sugar cane so i wouldn't be to worried.. its recycling really.. and as for it eating rubber seals its a myth.. they have been using e85 and similar fuels in cars in the states for along time and testing shows the engine and normal rubber fuel hoses stay in asgooder shape asif they were using a normal petrol.. roughly 30% more fuel delivered is all you need for e85.. and its a small price to pay for the octane rating you get = more boost.
Im pretty sure Brazil have been using fuels like e85 for near on 10 years!

07-01-09, 15:04 GMT+10#77 Mate did a test between his martini 102 race fuel tune and e85
the e85 supported 4 degrees more timing and would support more, but
was no point as hereached LBT, made another 25rwkw, spooled quicker and made more torque all on the same boost.
cheers
