03-07-09, 22:38 GMT+10#61 LOL i was just thinking from an engineering POV, if i had known someone had actually done a similar thing, i would have just posted the picture and saved myself the time of typing all that ****..
edit: not exactly what i was thinking as that is doing away with the factory girdle/caps, and relying on another girdle that obviously bolts to both the block and caps at the same time. I do however worry that the idea is inferior to girdle that cradles the block and ties to the caps rather that a girdle that has to (by itself) hold the caps together AND strengthen the block at the same time, I dont think its practical to have the 10mm+ of material required to do both jobs.

15-07-09, 15:43 GMT+10#70 if i was still keen on these rb30's id do an alluminium block, billet crank and the rb26 head with all the big guns and 60+psi id think you would see close to it.
ive seen my 2jz pump over 40 psi and 1346hp(3.0) and ive seen gas pump out 2000+hp(3.4) on 55 psi
it doesnt matter how much hp you make,it matters how fast you wanna go.

15-07-09, 22:19 GMT+10#74 I wouldn't be too concerned with the absurd prices Ripz charge Ank, their overpriced products has led to ingenuitive companies developing their own, albeit even better components:

Locally made in QLD, billet 4 bolt main caps hide under that girdle, with upgraded sump studs to 10mm and integrated crank scraper AS WELL. I'll see if I can get some pricing. 2 more versions are underway to suit RB26 GTR sump adaption integrated with the main girdle, making 3 litre block conversions into GTR's far simpler, and a 3rd version for the diesel block.
To answer the question, in short, YES, and RB can make 2000hp. Will anyone get there anytime soon?? No. I'd say give it 2-3 years and someone with the money and determination to get there, and it'll be done. It will require a RD28 block, the above main billet caps, grout filling, and a billet stroker crank. The rod ratio of an RB is far better than a 2J, so you can get a 3.2 stroker in the RD28 block pretty easily with a nice long rod, and add a mega full house 26 head, hypertune intake and 94mm Garrett GT55 billet comp wheel turbo, 65-70psi of boost and methanol, and all things being equal, it should have the same strength as a 2J, same capacity, and similar headflow.
Can an RB30 make 2000hp?? No. Can an RB? Technically not. Can a hybrid?? Who's got the money

You obviously cant use those thongs on the street though, you surely must be limited to the track with that much thong power? Id be concerned that the thong tracks will be shut down soon, just like the car tracks, they must make a hell of a flip flop kind of noise being high flowed.

16-07-09, 09:49 GMT+10#79 This thread is the best on CT in quite some time.
It's got outlandish claims, thrashing, funny comments, arguments, Rob talking shit as usual, then 6BOOST comes in once again and tells everyone what's up.
Quality all round.
