hey mate yeah a simmilar thing with me i was going to buy a vx ss ex cop car before i bought the vl it was 6 speed and F#$K it was mad to drive every gear man thows ya head back lol thats why i decided to ditch the rb30et in favour for a ls1 6 speed mate ppl keep sayin it'l cost 10-15 g's i think it depends on alot of things like say you buy a v8 cross member i paid $300 probs get it cheaper, that came with v8 brakes i bought of ebay the conversion kit for the starter motor to convert it to the pasanger side because it hits the steering wrack was $550, that came with engine mouts aswell so i need a gearbox mount still though, i got a 6 speed 4 $600 just saw it 4 that price and jumped at it i just need to buy a motor and get custom loom setup for it so i reackon after gettin absolutely everything ill be looking at about $8000 i think it depends on a lot of stuff if you do work yourself and shop around dude you'll deffinately see things pop up here and there for cheaper than usual

thats mad if its already an 8 you dont have to change engine cross member mate im guessing (i do not know excactly) but you already have v8 brakes (could even go a bit better with vt brakes) but get it all in there and make sure its all propper and not dodgy( not sayin it will be) but yeah get the conversion kit for the starter motor and get an auto elec to finish it of and get it started with the computer yoy have to get a re-mapped one if i havent already said that lol but if you dont go buzurk and spend wads of cash with like rebuildin the motor or like puttin a blower on it you should get out of it at a pretty good price compared to sum you can do all that later
by the way im thinkin of gettin rid of the conversion kit that i have and buying an ls1 and the gearbox and then getting the kit later on as silly as it sounds im trying to get everything together as in motor, box etc before i think of all the customising lol my mind go's everywhere sometimes with organising car stuff lets hope it gets me somewhere just let me know if your interested

10-06-08, 16:30 GMT+10#80 I was seriously considering doing this rather then putting money into my Clubsport. But, having 2 x LS1 powered cars would be a bit wierd.
Jason.
