It's just a stock R33 5 speed gearbox as well so there's no $4000 auto involved... Plus the shell was purchased at a very good price with the cage already installed.. If he wanted to go faster I imagine a few aspects of the car would have to be stepped up if it was to remain as incredibly reliable as it has been, although for 9.50s and 149.6mph 30k does the trick. Obviously it's different for everybody, I spent more than 30k on mine and it wasn't even close to running a 10.

so its safe to assume..... prices vary from 30 to "80" grand.. depending on what u get.. and what u spend your money on.

dude im hoping for 8.5s and iv spent 35 on the motor alone. **** isnt cheap these days and people pay more to add reliability. im sure WHONXT works on his car as well as matouk and there prob mates for such a low cost and its also gutted like **** too.

I know how much i spent at Anthony's shop and it would be getting close to the 10-9 sec mark seeing the shell for whonxt was my old one and we have pretty much the same motor etc. I haven't come close to 30k. Good luck to any one who runs the numbers no matter what it cost you but i also think as jack said you will be surprised what custom parts and big brand names will play in the build of the car. Why not go down to Maatouks racing and ask him for a quote to do a 9 sec car. He is always more than happy to go through things with potential customers

?????? how many engines did mattouks blow up to get to that number im confused, also you pay for quality of parts and peace of mind. sure you can run a number but if you want the all round car its alot more expensive eg whonxt compared to like jetf18, take away the paint and everythin just compare engines thats wat i mean you can see all the quality in the parts and hows its been done thats why prices vary so much $$$$$ = wank factor knowing ppl in the game will always help ppl out eg i got a full house glide with everything for 4900 where as the same builder would charge someone else 7500 so imagine if a hole build was like that, its all about the hook ups in getting a cheaper build

WHONXT was probably the single most reliable quick VLT wsid saw in 2007. Now blown engines, no tear downs, no rebuilds - in fact the car hasn't even seen any blow-bye yet. You think it would still be under 30k if he'd blown an engine? Money doesn't always buy quality, and big dollar parts although in many cases helpful - still don't guarantee you anything. I am in no way saying I think Maatouks are the best and no one else can compare, to say that about any shop would be ignorant. I'm just trying to illistrate the point that money doesn't absolutely promise you ****. I use Anthony's shop as an example of what can be done is because i know the place inside out, and for no other reason. PS You can hardly bring Zorans car into this... that's an 8 second, show quality VL Turbo mate - probably the nicest all round VL in the country. Bit different to a street/strip spec budget built driveline-only SL like WHONXT.

jack i must admit that car is neat knock on my wood i havent had any problems yet either the only rebuild i needed was for a 9 inch and a tailshaft but i have coped alot as you race the car i have snapped axles bent controller arms tunning issues i been learning how to get this car i paid 4k for my diff end of last year for a rebuild with 35 axles mark williams gear etc with 4.3 gears now i gotta pay another 500 to change the gears as they are too high for the car the way it is now i spent thousands in dyno time to get the car to run smooth and perfect i have done things twice sometimes three times on the car to get it right i have gone from a EMS stinger to a microtech to a autronic to get the car to run perfect turbos i have upgraded from a 35/40 to a t51r garrett i went from a jatco to a glide i have had new cam put in it meaning new tune have tested and started running a new race fuel called roo16 not even allowed to be used yet less boost more power has been the outcome of it also try spending over 5K in braided lines and fuel lines etc lol that aint cheap either i never cut any costs on my car when i built it now i gotta clean up the interior too i wanna sell it but still spending money on it i am throwing in an anti roll bar setup as well another 1500 later like i said i am on the 80k mark due to me testing and trying things usually workshops dont like talking about how they run there times even when talking to them at the track etc no one ever tells there secrets which undeciding i have to learn myself how to do everything the only person in workshop i admit to be helpful is Maatouks everyone else is all talk and a few people know my experiences i have had with other shops too majority of shops out there are scums and for eg who puts a car on a dyno and melts two sparks plugs as they lean the motor out ??? that one shop pissed me off i paid for a tune which i delete anyways ........ I would love to see one workshop other than the ones i have mention help anyone out even if they arent a paying customer i have never seen it......I am a plumber and if someone ever called me to question something on the phone i would try help as much as i can shops dont do that bring it in and let us have a look at it.... I have numerous people sms or call me on my phone with help with there cars on this website from all over Australia and if i can help anyone i do with any details i can give them and i aint even a mechanic My tuner has been a great help scott from insight motorsport his someone thats been a great help too he hasnt delt with many high powered vls (which he has now) high powered meaning like 9 sec cars, but into the drag racing and knows how to tune he has done **** loads of skylines etc and alot of jap cars lancers etc and big drag cars etc so he helps as much as he can also as you know everyones cars, setups, etc work different

HAHA yeh but they use them there as everyday cars the states are the best for that they know how to build drag cars etc and are good at it too different buying the car and different trying it yourself if you enjoy doing it

wwhen you think about it most of the cars get cosmetic work done i.e paint etc. you cant put an exact price on it every person/car is different. but 30+ sounds about right every little thing adds up
