Been ages since i've been on here, here are some long overdue pictures!
Also, updates!
- Full exhaust now, HM Headers + 2.5" cat back, one muffler and a hot dog. Needs a new cat however, tossing up between a new one or the hollowed out one kicking around the garage.
-Car has a full set of black venetians now!
-New Monroe GT gas shocks all round
-Polished Calais wheels
-Frankston Foreshore
-Frankston Foreshore again with a mates old 308, trimatic S2 VLC
-VLC wheels the day I picked them up from Dandy Metal Polishing
-Nothing says "tough" like a dump pipe!
-Excuse picture quality, some are from a mates Digital SLR and others are Nokia camera phone spec!
-Polished wheels are on the car, will take some flicks when possible
Also, tow bar is staying on the car as it's used once a week to take the Wheelie bins in

Thanks man!
The car was already roadied so it didn't have to go through the pits, just transferred it over!
Also I got my licence a month or two before logbooks were mandatory and went through Frankston Vic Roads for that

After reading through some build threads and becoming inspired to look at my VL, I realized how long it has been since I have posted anything about my nug, has only been around 3 years!
I have a daily now so the trusty old VLC is still registered albeit under a car cover awaiting some TLC.
Once I pull my finger out, i'd like to put the old girl on club reg and chuck on a standard turbo set up.
I'll have a crack at tidying up this thread and post up a to do list to try and keep me motivated!

Awesome man! Good to see it's stayed in your hands all these years and hasn't seen a sad ending - as most do with p platers

Cheers man! I thought about selling it a few times and just couldn't bring myself to do it, hahaha.
I'm already a member of a car club so club reg shouldn't be too tricky for the old girl.
The motor has just about reached the end of it natural life expectancy however I have a replacement on an engine stand and am preparing it to be dropped in.
Will have to take some pictures and post this to do list!

The Vl has been receiving a bit of TLC lately!
I've dropped in another motor, as the previous one reached the end of its natural life.
Air con has been redone with a new compressor & condenser + a re gas and now works a treat.
Lots of brackets have been blasted and painted on the new motor to tidy it up, I blasted and painted up a wrinkle red rocker cover that also on now in anticipation of a turbo conversion.
The new motor also copped a rebuilt alternator and dizzy while it was on the stand along with the usual thermostat and housings being replaced.
I have also began acquiring parts for a turbo conversion!
So far there is a transcooler to attempt to prolong the auto's life and an unmolested crossover pipe.
Does anyone have any information on the standard T3 (TO3?) turbos?
Ie. part numbers, specs? Was it a Nissan item or a Garret?
I am trying to source one but can't find any info on the standard turbos!
I'm also looking for a standard low mount turbo manifold to suit a standard T3 turbo if anyone is selling one.
I'll try and post up some pictures of all the VLC related shenanigans this weekend![COLOR="Silver"]

Here are some pictures of the progress so far!
Here is the sump, removed it to check oil pick up, suss out the bottom end and give it a clean out, all seemed well.

And here is the first step towards the turbo conversion!
An unmolested crossover pipe with both line & brackets.

There is also a transcooler to be fitted as well, a bigger 250mm X 200mm X 19mm unit.
The auto has been previously built so hopefully this should keep it happily cruising along.
If anyone has a standard turbo/standard turbo hotside manifold, dump etc. for sale feel free to PM me!

Was given a standard dump to suit T3 off some buddies for my birthday!
I'll give it a tidy up, bang some new studs in it and that's one more piece of the turbo puzzle sorted!

Cheers man!
Will do, just on the wild goose chase finding og turbo gear that hasn't been butchered that people aren't asking a million $$$'s for.
Once I have all the parts I can put it all together, get it going and start saving for a cooler & pipework.
I'll try and keep this updated with as many pictures as possible!
---------- Post added 19-04-15 at 18:31 ----------
This afternoon i've picked up an airbox, AFM and the alloy + plastic intake elbows for a standard turbo set up!
Even though I haven't touched the car this weekend, it still feels like i'm getting somewhere because i'm getting closer to having all the parts I need to start the conversion!
I think I have also found a 3" dump from turbo to cat, just waiting on an email back to make sure it suits a standard turbo.
Will try and post up a picture of some goodies tonight.

Here is a picture of the current collection of parts, cool side is just about all sorted!
Crossover pipe, airbox/afm/plastic inlet elbow/alloy inlet elbow, turbo dump and a trans cooler.
Just need a turbo, an exhaust manifold and sort out this 3" dump pipe then the wheels can be set in motion!
Vl is running well since the other motor went in, been on a few test drives and one or two cruises and the only only issue i've had is the temp. sensor plug crapped itself and was replaced.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
