i have one of these fuse rails from the first batch. absolutely hassle free install, never a problem since. well worth the money before tackling any other electrical problems imo.

Do these units stop the high beam fuse from melting? Thats the only fuse I've ever had trouble with, and ended up getting a relay put in from the auto electrition (that wasn't cheap....)

The fuse rail definitely wont melt, the material is rated 200deg C
as its solderable
The fuses are another matter, fuse quality is variable. I've seen
some crappy plastic fuses and some ok ones, given its on the
left of the fuse rail it gets a lot of heat from the exhaust and turbo
despite the heat shield. If you are considering going for higher
capacity headlamps then its best you go for a relay anyway,
especially if you have a turbo and as hot weather is coming
up that seems to be the worst time for the old thermoplastic
fuse rails to melt or sometimes just start warping enough so they
dont make good contact with the fuses which then makes the fuses
melt far worse.
As the fuse holder grips the fuse far better than the older unit,
I'd recommend using it as summer is approaching. For anyone
that has occasional electrical problems the new fuse rail also
helps because there is much less chance of an intermittent
fuse contact and with the lights to show when a fuse fails
is a great diagnostic bonus - its all up to you
