Yeah I personally only really appreciate R32 GTR's. Although, I must admit I admire that black R33 GTR that has been posted in the thread. The silver/ white one below is farked but. Jason.

Also, an LS1 goes for 2-4k (4k being a new motor), aren't alot of RB25dets around the same, if not more expensive than that? (the 2k ones). OK maybe LS1s do make a more reliable 300rwkw than I gave them credit for, and I know you have something against RB20/25s...god knows why. But that power don't come as cheap as aquabat would have you think.. Fact is, plenty off R33s make 220rwkw with just boost up/tune, and quite a few are up to 250 and more (silvrbullet on this forum for one) Reliably with a turbo(GT35/40 w/.63 rear?)tune and injectors to the tune of around 4K if you're smart and this gives them the same power to weight as a VT/X/Y/Z with 300rwkw....which by the way, will still cost around 5+ grand when you factor in a quality exhaust, maf-less tune, over the radiator air intake and F.A.S.T. manifold or similar plus a diff ratio change to 3.9s. Things like decent clutches are also more expensive with an LS1 *EDIT* I have never seen one hit 300rwkw without a head/cam package either. There's another $4000 All I was trying to say is that I don't believe it is a clear winner in a performance bang for buck comparison because it isn't, not wanting to start bitch fight. Thats all I have to say on the topic Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Thats all I have to say on the topic I have nothing against RB25DETs, i have been in a fair few of the things in VL's with a whole range of different setups, i think they make a better street motor than the 30ET does personally. The 20DET on the other hand isn't even worth pissing on, but we won't get into that lol. Have you experienced a 35/40 on a RB25? They aren't the most responsive things, and 'reliable' is not a great word to throw around when talking about a 15 year old turbo engine with unknown km's and a 500-600hp turbo strapped to the side of it, especially if it was all done for under 4k, not saying there is anything wrong with it (hell, it's what i'd do! ), just saying you can't compare the reliability of such a setup to a basic 300rwkw LS1. coz it has an rb engine in it? once im done with the calais, ill sell up, rip the motor out and put the motor in an r32 4 door :P and see what thats like (dont know if ill keep it auto though, ill probably go manual, i dont know, then again it'd be cool to see a r32 4door with a 3spd gearbox or a powerglide lol) but i dno, i would never buy any other holden except for a vl turbo, dont know why. probably coz i cant afford newer ones and their shape and engines dont interest me Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Its just like the endless Ford vs Holden debate everyone has their own opinion and the fact is watever side your on usually ur way to biased or misinformed I love my VL but skylines are a nice car to drive just in stock form i think the tuneability and just massive range of aftermarket parts for them makes them apealing as well, u can individualise them. Having said that it also means u do get alot of wankers slapping ricey crap on their skyline and thinking there fully sick. End of the day, they have there pros, and they have there cons. But i know theres definently worse cars out there

I think its a bit strange that most people on here do hate skylines though lol, seen as VL's basically adopted half of the Skyline drivetrain

R31 Skyline drivetrain. It would be strange for people to hate R31s, but as for Skylines in general........nah. Too be honest I really wish VLs came with a Supra drivetrain, but oh well. Correction? lol nah I dunno aye, I love the RB engines cause of my VL and thats made me like skylines a bit more and just thought maybe others would have the same sorta idea How is a skyline vs. a V8 on fuel consumption btw? I figure they wouldnt be to far off each other yes? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

RB30's are good in VL's. RB20's are p*ss weak. RB25's in R33's aren't much better as far as I'm concerned. RB26's, well I like R32 GTR's and that black R33 GTR with black rims in the other thread in this section. As for 34's, well I don't think they look that great, I think Nissan was on the money with the R32 but, and I can see they have tried to make the R34's a bit more 'square'. My Clubsport blows away R33's with full 3" exhaust systems, intercooler setup and 14psi all the time. As for making power, well if you acctually read what I said above, and realised it's also on the SAU forums. If you are comparing engine VS. engine you cannot start of with the price of the car, because people are going to spend different ammount to buy what suits there needs. Put an LS1 and an RB25 in a VL. Same weight, leave each engine stock, see which one wins. LS1 hands down. Jason.

mate rb25dets are just as good as a street motor as rb30ets, rb20dets are the shocking ones, they aren't even worthy of pissing on, should have never been called an RB

bah 99% of rb25 powered r33's on the street have the mods u mentioned and theyre pissweak, and would be lucky to consistantly hit 13.9second 400m times lol ..and ATMO RB20's arent THAT bad, as the saying goes any motor can be good when money is spent on it :/ but having said this, i would never buy one or put it in my vlt unless i just wanted a cheap way of getting my car up and running and to do skids in whilst sounding cool Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
