cheers mate! always appreciate comments from people on this forum. its a much bigger job than i first thought to be honest lol. but getn there slowly. ive really only done 4 full days and 5 nights after work worth of work. so not too shabby! ill get stuck back into it this weekend after i've moved n **** and rip off the doors and take out the rest of the interior. but it probably wont be sprayed until june, simply due to funds. we'll see what happens though Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

cheers for the comments boys its definitely never ending! hasn't been any progress in the past few weeks, been too busy or broke. looks like the car might be going back to bare metal, but am just waiting on a painter to come and asses the car before i do anymore. ill be picking up a compressor on the weekend but ill only be doing the body work and priming myself - but not for quite some time. I've decided ill pay someone to lay down the base coat, color and clear in a booth. just don't want to take any chances. after coming this far i'm in no rush! but as always, i'm just taking it as it comes lol Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah would be good to get your opinion man, all my life ive only ever taught myself with cars using books and advice from other ppl, but never had anyone actually by my side that knows what theyre doing lol. which has lead to alot of stuff ups, but alot of fun. anyway as said above, at this point im just waiting on advice from a painter on what to do next, as i dont wanna strip it if he believes it should be fine, but i dont want to sand more if itsgoing to be bare metaled lol. i dont get a day off on monday though and am frying all weekend loll but may be able to meet up at my mates on saturday if your free? yeah not sure on the time, i think kane and his painter mate are going to come have a look if theyre free. so ill see what time they can come down if they can coz ill be in the city all weekend, but need to make a mission to frankston to get the compressor

well kane and his mate came to have a look at the car today. after all the bull**** ppl have told me about bare metaling the car its just not needed in this case. there are only parts of the car where the paint is bad, so that will be sanded back only as much as needed to repair that. we went over the car for rust and could find only very minimal surface rust from stone chips and a tiny bit of surface rust on the back of one of the doors. we figured if we went bare metal there would be no real gain. so ill be attacking the car with some 240 grit as a final sand for primer, which really only needs to be done on the bonnet and the doors as the rest of the car is finished. ill then hand it over to the painter to do the priming and painting, simply so it gets a good finish (and i also cbf sanding the primer ) so still looks like itl be finished by end of june all going well Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Good to meet ya Bill, car was pretty straight mate. As deano said, i wouldnt bother bare metalling the car as it just doesnt need it. Give him or me a call if you need to have a chat about anything.
